This is from Teague's signature:
National Champs: 1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1950, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1991, 1992, 1994, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014
The only ones I know that are bogus are 41, 73, 74 and 2014. Does anyone have absolute proof that they weren't the best teams in the other years he listed?

My only issue with people breaking down title claims is that criteria applied to ours is ignored for other teams. Don't want to count the 4 Rose Bowl teams? Fine. But that same thing better be applied to USC, Michigan, etc. I believe that knocks Michigan down to 2 titles.

They didn't get a single selection in 1936, 37, 50, 62, 63, 74, 80, 91, and 94.
2013 FBS Football Records Book - NCAA
Edit: 1973 isn't bogus because they got the Coaches (which was still being awarded before their bowl loss to Notre Dame).

You don't have to, just pages 77-79.

You're the man around here, but this isn't a fair statement.
1941 is bogus. The other claims are good.

Dear Crimson Legend,
I promise to use small words so you can understand. Alabama was awarded no poll championship for 1941. Therefore there is nothing to publicize. And the rest of the world thinks claiming somthing that does not belong to you is stealing. Just enjoy your ebt card and hope you loaded up the trailer with snacks to watch the tide.
How witty.
Most of us use the word "poll" even when discussing computer based systems. Almost everyone calls them the "computer polls" when they aren't really polls.
Alabama was ranked #1 by the Houlgate system. It does not carry the same weight as the AP, but some consider it to be a legitimate ranking.
Personally, I don't consider Houlgate by itself to be a legitimate national title claim. But acknowledging that you were awarded the top ranking in their "poll" is hardly stealing.
I know responding to you as if you were a rational human is pointless, but I prefer not to get into the moronic stereotypes with you.

List in OP was updated to reflect Florida State's third legit title.

Even a hatchet job like this leaves alabama with more titles than anyone else. Doesn't matter how you count em, you know who will end up with the most.

But a 'Road to Six' doesn't have the same pizzazz as 'Road to 25' or whatever the number is this year.
