Alabama has all kinds of rivals and so does everyone else. The barner is one kind in that they live in Alabama, and Tennessee is historically another. LSU is a west rivalry based on mutual coaches and football excellence. I would add that any west team who's big boy pants are large enough to give Bama a hard time in winning the division that season is another kind of rival. None equal to the other in every aspect of what makes all rivalries.
