Pelini has been bidding his time waiting to get back to a big program until Nebraska got done paying him. Has anyone seen the absolute shite show Neb is now that he left? What a dumpesterfire. His D's were sick here and I can't wait to see him back in action with all of this ridiculous talent.

I approve of this message. Pelini is intense and expects his players to play with the same intensity. I look forward to his crazy blitzing as well.

They were. I went back to look at the recruiting classes during those years, and there wasn't as much defensive talent as I expected. Pelini's defenses were as good statistically as Aranda's with less talent. This was a good hire.

What's so funny? He's known for having great defenses and has proven his worth at LSU in the past. This is a very solid hire by orgeron once again. Our defense is going to be stellar with the talent we have and pelini coaching them up. I'm actually excited bc I thought LSU was missing some agressiveness this season with our defensive playcalling. Bo is going to bring pressure for damn sure and always has been known for having dominant defensive lines. This is a great hire, like I said. Idk why it's so funny that we are paying him 2 mil a season? He's definitely a proven DC, winning a natty at LSU in the past. Geaux tigers.

This is a home run hire for LSU. I remember those Pelini defenses. They were talented and very aggressive. Dorsey was an absolute MONSTER up the middle. Match that defense up with LSU's new offensive scheme, LSU will be in the hunt baby.

You can’t compare LSU O in 2020 to LSU O in 2019. E won’t have Burrow in 2020. Fail. What Bama and the rest of the smartness here will come to realize is that Oeaux’s team will improve in other areas. There will be a drop off at qb in 2020 obviously but you will see a young defense take stride and the O will be more than adequate. LSU may be a 10-2 team in 2020 regular season but one of the 10+ will include BAMA. We have it out for you and we aren’t backing down...

A1abama fans are all about moral victories now. That and trying to convince themselves that LSU was just a "flash in the plan" and Bama hasn't been slipping.

Couldn't give two shits about what he did at Nebraska and Youngstown State as a HC
If he can eclipse Aranda's defense at LSU, I will be happy. I think he'll do just that

He's a great Xs and Os guy who hasn't been away from football for any amount of time. FCS evolves as well, and it's not like he won't have tons of film to scheme.
I like the hire.

Haha all I remember is that Pelini has some aggressive and very good defenses. Glen Dorsey was recruited and developed by Pelini. He was a monster that killed opposing offensive lines.
Pelini is a high energy guy and a good DC. Great hire for LSU.
Hell, LSU made Chaves look like the best DC in college football for years.
LSU gonna be good next year.

People are getting more scared. Our defenses were the shite when he was at LSU, and then he just went over to Nebraska, which we've seen how they've been performing lately, right? And averaged 9.5 wins per year over a 7 year stretch as head coach before getting fired so he could be replaced by Mike Riley, who proceeded to go 6-7, 9-4, 4-8 before he got fired to be replaced by the golden child, Scott Frost, who has gone 4-8 and 5-7 thus far.
ETA: Need to reiterate. Nebraska has had one winning season since he was fired. He never won less than 9 games a year there, and led them to 2 conference title games and a bowl every year he was there. Just saying.
He led YSU to a FCS title game. He's struggled the last three years, no doubt, but he's had mad success everywhere he's been.
Y'all is scared, and should be, because with the talent he is inheriting on this D, which includes Stingley and Stevens back in the backfield, along with No. 1 CB Elias Ricks, we should be back among the elites next year. Now, we just need Brennan to be really good, not Joe Burrow good.

re: Bo Pelini's Nebraska defenses in the Big Ten & Youngstown defenses in the MVC
One of his last years here, the LSU defense knocked out four starting quarterbacks in a row and another one later in the year. His LSU defenses were nasty and hit the shite out of opposing players. They destroyed people. They were the hardest hitting teams in LSU history and played with a mean streak, trying to tear the heads off ball carriers and went after quarterbacks like a tomahawk missile. Motherfrickers running slants across the middle were decapitated and running quarterbacks were hunted mercilessly and attacked with a vengeance, installing fear and terrorizing them as ball carriers.
I can’t wait to see them make Mond cry.

Now do Nebraska’s defenses since he left. The fact that Nebraska was in the top 10 under him twice and hovered around the top 25 (just as good as Aranda in the past 2 years) is actually really impressive. You scared

I was tired of there being absolutely no pass rush, and given how LSU looked in the Texas & Ole Miss games, I was excited for the switch to 4-3. Did I think Pelini was THE GUY? No, but I didn't expect this; I don't know who would have guessed LSU would look like this.
At least we have a pass rush now

Yep. LSU fans think they have the best coach and player at each position until they step on a field. They build their hopes 10x faster than the average fan. We saw it when they beat Vandy and we saw it when they beat SC.

A.) Lose several coaches who take promotions at other places after winning a national championship
B.) Minimal changes to a staff that employs Pete Golding and Butch Jones

Pelini will fill in nicely. To be honest I expect his D’s to very, very good. I’m stoked. I really don’t look at the LSU DC spot as a loss. We will always find a great DC to field great D’s. Only major loss imo is Brady....

I won't lie. I was pretty happy with what was supposed to be a more attacking defense too.
