If been saying this all 2019. Ehlinger is overrated. Yes he can get the job done. But he can't take over games like Vince or even Colt did.

Lol he absolutely can and has.

The win against No. 5 OU and the win against No. 5 Georgia in 2018 are not possible without ehlinger. Period.

Without Ehlinger, LSU curb-stomps Texas in Austin. Ehlinger racked up over 460 total yards and single-handedly kept Texas in the game against the best team in the country.

The bowl game victory against No. 10 Utah, who had a top 10 defense in the country, saw Ehlinger abuse that team.

Ehlinger can take over a game. He's had some iffy ones here and there, but he's basically carried Tom's career at Texas so far.

One problem with Nix's development, Gus Malzahn.

They will be just as good as last years. Hopefully, Morris will have a few more options for Nix. I do not know if Gus even knows that a TE is part of the passing game.

For as many terrible things as Morris did, he for the most part found ways for the TE to get involved

That may be the only positive thing I've ever heard from an Arky fan about Morris

Ehlinger is a bull. Nix is a good runner but Ehlinger is stout.

I do think Nix will be a better passer than Sam though

Eh, I try to be realistic about it. Will he be as bad for Auburn as he was for us? Very unlikely, he might just be one of those guys that is made to stay an OC.

Even when the Arkansas vs Auburn shitfest was going on after Auburn hired him. I always said worst case scenario he will probably recruit well for you at least. There is no doubt that he has many very good ties to the state of Texas.

Personally think Bo has a bigger upside. He seems to have better touch andante better decisions. His problem is That Gus designs the pass routes and calls the Plays. Gus has no idea of how to build routes that complement each other or have strategic concepts within them. Every pass play is essentially built off of a play fake and designed to go to one guy. If he isn’t open , look around. The problem with looking around is that those other routes were not built to accomplish anything per se. It’s not like a read where if option 1 or 2 isn’t there it means three is open. The routes are not fluid and don’t allow for the receiver and QB to adjust as coverage adjusts. Gus will handicap this kid as long as he is coaching at Auburn.

Ehlinger isn't a bad QB. He needs to protect the ball better, but he's a good QB.

I looked up his stats and he's very similar to TLaw. 4 Less TDs and 2 More picks. Same Yardage and %. Never respected him before.

Bo has room to grow.

He and Bicknell are doing a very good job. OL about the only position Gus can't recruit for shite, and they're helping there.

Bigbens, don’t take this the wrong way but do y’all think Gus will turn over the pass game and play calling to Chad? If he doesn’t , I don’t see how you guys ever get over the hump. His play calling lost the 2017,18 and 19 LSU games and damn near lost the 2016 game. Also, his pass route concepts look like things we drew in the dirt in 5th grade. I think his ego is too big to step back and let someone else revamp the pass game or call plays.

Not Bens, but I actually believe he will. Maybe I'm a fool (and some of you will probably agree),but if he's ever going to trust anybody, it will be Morris.

Not surprised to hear that, I see the two biggest targets he has projecting are both from Texas.

The one thing I wonder about is QB development. It seems that has been a major issue for Gus. I see that Chad is listed under QB coach and I would say that was probably his weakest area while at Arkansas when it came to on the field coaching.

Lets see: Marshall, Johnson, White, Stidham and Nix. He did a very good job with Marshall, who was a DB by all accounts. Johnson was a bust that had the arm, but not the brain for the position. White had the brain for the position, but lacked an arm and was injury prone. Stidham is playing in the NFL. Nix was the Freshman Player of the Year. Gus's biggest problems with his QBs has been a diverse passing game, something that Chad was hired for.
