LSU made Brian Kelly a top five paid coach. How did that positively impact LSU?

You are comparing the greatest college head coach of all time to Lane Kiffin.

When it is all said and done, it won’t be surprising if Brian Kelly is viewed as a better coach than Lane Kiffin.

After Saban's first or second national championship, the University of Alabama announced that the win had resulted in an enrollment increase that more than paid for his salary.
Saban already had one NC under his belt and had proven himself.

Kiffin has done nothing except “extort” higher salaries as he has jumped schools.

Kiffin is not worth the batshit insane salary listed above.

That doesn’t even touch the stupid way LSU is handling Kelly.

When Kiffin ultimately flames out and he has a buyout even larger than Kelly, what then?

I wouldn't take what Blake Ruffino says that seriously, He's the Matt Moscona of YouTube. But, if it's true, I just wish it would stop. I don't think Kiffin is worth that much to be honest.

This.

All that did was screw up our program and cost us millions.

Who already had a NC at LSU when he was paid the large salary at Alabama.

What has Kiffin done to warrant even $10 million?

There isn't anyone telling him this. Like someone from LSU is going to call him up & say, "Hey Blake, we are now willing to do $16M/yr for 7 years"

he also mentions that Kirby Smart has a clause in his contract that if any coach were to ever get paid more than him, Georgia has to match it. WOW!!!

At some point someone is going to make a contract where they get an automatic raise to be the highest paid coach plus $100k or something. Then another coach has the same and we'll end in a recursive loop to infinity.

Not that that could or would be enforced but as crazy as stuff is now I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of such contacts existing.

Sounds crazy but in 4-5 years that might be below market for a top coach.

God bless LSU fans, one day they are crying about Kelly’s contract and now thinking this contract would be a great thing.

If they pay that much and Kiffin fails, wow wow wow!

And Sexton writes both contracts…and sees his a commission circle spiral every few minutes…

my goodness. He is not one of the few living coaches that might even sniff being worth that type of money. I'm thinking no one is.
