Seems like every time Napier's head is on the block, he pulls some rabbit out of his hat

Yes, but hopefully it does not fool Scott ...very, very clear he needs to go.

He went from $4.5m to $8.3m after a single 1-loss season at IU. UF gonna give him $10-12m/yr?

I imagine UF will pay their new coach between $10-12, yes

IU would beat UF by 4 scores on a neutral field today. IU is the best team in the BigX. UF is a train wreck

UF is not a train wreck. If you flipped coaches, Florida would beat Indiana handily

He will get that chance in the playoffs that he will be attending every year with IU's schedule.

He won't be playing the best competition annually in the SEC

quote:

If he keeps winning like he is winning at IU they will name the stadium after him

Maybe that matters to him, maybe it doesn't. They would do the same at James Madison and he left them for a bigger program that was in worse shape in a prestigious conference.

Why leave and have to deal with uga, tenner, ole miss, BAMA when you can play Rutgers, ucla, Maryland and Purdue every year?? For $1-1.5m more per year? Not worth the headache.

I gave you potential reasons. They may not be valid for you, they may not be valid for him, however, I imagine he'll get paid an arse pile of money to coach somewhere other than Indiana next season.

He's making $8.3 this year at IU.

Who's gonna pay more than that that actually needs a coach?

IU will match any money He's offered. Mark Cuban is an IU grad and booster.

And Florida ain’t gonna be one of them. Dude is 64 years old. He ain’t leaving the comforts of the Midwest. His wife is from Bloomington, Indiana. Mark Cuban will more than match whatever any school will offer

He left a great situation at James Madison when he was 62 years old.

I don't think Florida will entertain the idea of hiring him unfortunately, however, there's a smart team out there that will.

Which game will be the last straw for Napier? A look at the last 4 coaches at UF who were fired.

Dan Mullen fired after an OT loss to Missouri.
Jim McElwain fired after a 42-7 loss to Georgia
Will Muschamp fired after OT loss to South Carolina (allowed to coach remaining reg season games)
Ron Zook fired after losing to Mississippi State 31-28 (allowed to coach the remaining reg season games)

I think the Texas A&M game was the last straw.

I wouldn’t say we were the only reason, but State beat Urban on homecoming the year he quit.

Urban quit about midway through the 2009 season. We were a rudderless ship with good players in 2010.

I don't understand you guys hoping Billy gets fired. Has he sucked, yep. Will the new coach be significantly better, history says no. Obviously, if you make the right hire, he can go off, but firing guys every few years isn't the answer.

shhhhh let them cook. I feel a Tennessee level panic button smashing every other year implosion coming

Billy probably won't be fired, at least until the end of the season. He lost a game that was a rent-a-win against UCF and beat a team that he shouldn't have, TX.

But a loss to Moo State will put the train in motion.
