US over England in the 1950 World Cup
Definitely the biggest upset in World Cup history. At least the equal of US over Russia in hockey.

1980 USA over the Soviets in the Olympics. Period, end of story. We will never see an upset of that magnitude probably ever.

Agree.

I also think the Jets beating the Colts is underrated.

There were serious talks of discontinuing the SuperBowl if the Colts won, with the NFL winning the first three.

The Jets win had a lot to do with making the NFL what it is today.

Not really.

Colts QB had his mind on a Hollywood star who was in town and mind was not on game. Funny stuff like that means some upsets are not upsets if you were on site and paying attention.

Most amazing thing was we had to come back and beat Sweden after that epic game.

Ha....sorry Finland

In any event, I think it’s often overlooked that they had to beat Finland to win the Gold.

It makes the upset of Russia that more amazing.

Yes and That was a very good Jets team.

The biggest deal is it might have saved the SuperBowl.

Huge ramifications for the NFL.

Yes, it was in The Dome.
Still mad my Mom wouldn't let me miss a day of school, to attend the game.

The thing about that game was it took place when we, the United States, really needed something positive in our lives. Iran, the waiting in lines for gas, Jimmy Carter etc.... I mean the nation really needed something to bring us together. It was perfect

The original Miracle.

I forgot to mention the Blue Jackets win over the presidents trophy winner Tampa Bay. No one saw that coming.

Thank you for the perspective....

Can you imagine waiting in line to get gas in the USA?

Most on this board have no idea what you are talking about.

It was. The country REALLY was unified. Like you said, we’ll never see anything like that again.
