The 1988 and 1990 World Series should be on the list too. The Dodgers and Reds were VASTLY inferior to the A's.

As a Reds fan, I agree. That 1990 Reds team was an odd team. They won their first 9 games and was first wire-to-wire. But, played .500 baseball the last half of the season. Oakland was stacked. McGuire, Conseco, and Henderson were monsters, and had great pitching.

But, I'd pick the Jets over the Colts as the biggest upset.

And the A’s acquired Willie McGee after Whitey Herzog resigned. They were loaded.

Pretty sure from an analytics standpoint...

It's UMBC not just beating, but obliterating #1 Virginia as a #16 seed in the tournament.

Also, Leicester City winning the EPL has to be up there.

I couldn’t imagine using another team’s accomplishment as in insult towards the team that kicks my team’s arse annually. It’s just pathetic. LSU fans do it to try and troll Bama fans because they have no other artillery...little do the corn dogs know...it’s pretty fricking pathetic.

It doesn’t do anything but make you clowns look like bigger clowns. Just shut your fricking mouth until you beat us...then you can tattoo the score on your boyfriends arse.

I use to tell my students about being a kid only being able to get gas on certain days and waiting in line an hour. They looked at me like I was from Mars.

If we had gas lines today the murder rate would triple

1994 World Cup. Columbia (favorite to win the World Cup) being eliminated by USA national team.

Not biggest upset in sports history, but a big upset.

Willie McGee with the St. Louis Cardinals started the new fad of long pants in baseball.

He ended the era of the stirrup socks.

It was an upset, but not one of the "biggest upsets in sports history". US had some good players. Lalas was playing in Italy. Dooley , Caligiuri, and Wynalda in Germany. Harkes, Jones, and Wegerle in England. Ramos in Spain. Sorber and Balboa in Mexico. Stewart in the Netherlands. Meola was a good GK in his own right, but was playing domestically. Many of those players are among the best we've ever had.

I also have a hard time putting it on the list when we got the win in part due to an own goal by Colombia and that player was murdered when he returned home.

That US team only lost 1-0 to Brazil (the eventual champions) in the Round of 16.

I’m not a soccer guy but I really thought the US Men’s program was on the upswing then.
