PSA

the post originator DanMullins4Life is a Ole Miss troll. Any post that he starts should be disregarded. An obvious troll is obvious.

From biggest upset to barely an upset:

1. Ole Miss
2. Tennessee
3. Vandy
4. Auburn
5. Missouri

Missouri is rolling right now, and UF hasn't looked sharp for most of the year. That was an UINO (upset in name only).

Aggy was begging to lose with that defense, and most saw that Auburn matched up well against them. I had that one picked, so it's on the low end of my list.

Vandy winning against the big 6 is always huge, but poor UGA is a shell of its early season self.

Both USCe and LSU losses topped the WTFometer. Ole Miss gets the nod on biggest upset because I'm a butthurt LSU fan.

The AU win was not an upset.

They cannot stop the run, we knew that. We rana nd won. Pretty simple.

More importantly:

Rivals since 2010:
Auburn 4, 7, 10, 8
A&M 17, 27, 15, 11

Scout since 2010:
Auburn 6, 2, 8, 14
A&M 25, 31, 21, 6

Recruiting rankings may be a bit speculative, and some players just don't pan out, but overall these rankings are not simply pulled out of one's arse, unless you're talking about Geoff Ketchum's evaluations.

Anybody who thought Auburn would blow donkey ballz like they did last year simply does not understand college football. It was an "upset" by the general definition of the term, but not surprising in the least. Most of us said that Auburn would be a tough game, so yeah, that should be #5 or not even on the list.

I'm sorry you couldn't overcome adversity like OM.

Had the injury thing covered, just could keep refs from ejecting a critically needed player for pushing the QB. Two turnovers on punts which were both 50 yard field position swings. It was a perfect storm against UGA.

Not a single one of the winning teams mentioned by the OP would want a rematch.

Well, yea. That's why it's considered an upset.

I bet Auburn wouldn't mind a rematch with Aggy right now. Same for Mizzou with UF.

I bet Auburn would want a crack at A&M again in place of the Iron Bowl, strictly from a competitive standpoint (forget the rivalry for a moment).

Probably so, given JFF's abilities diminished by his collar bone not connected to his shoulder blade.

Everybody posted to the aggies that JFF would eventually get hurt. He lasted longer than I though he would.

1. OM vs. LSU -- I've watched OM play ~3 times now and OM's got a solid team. They have a damn good defense and if they get their offense rolling nearly as well, they will be a huge surprise in the West in the next few years. LSU reminds me of a few 2000s Era Tennessee teams (all the talent in the world, good coaching, but the heart is missing).

2. Mizzou vs. Florida - Mizzou has been a pleasant surprise. I didn't think they could beat Florida once Franklin went down. With Franklin, I thought they had a chance but without I thought they'd deflate. Florida is injured but like LSU - where has the shine gone?

3. Vandy vs. UGA - Both surprising and not surprising at the same time. I wish I'd gotten to see this one. Yes, UGA is injured but didn't Vandy's QB get hurt as well? This upset reminds me a lot UT vs. UK game a few years ago. After the game, a few of the seniors were so pissed off at a few other teammates that a few openly spoke of a couple of teammates that didn't try as hard as they could because 'they didn't want to go to shitty bowl game.' Everyone assumed it was Bray and WR D. Rogers but they weren't named. Shortly after, several assistants left the program including a WR coach and IIRC, the DC.

I don't think UGA quit but I do wonder if their spirit isn't broken.

4.* Aubie vs Aggie - I don't think this was much surprise, especially after OM nearly beat Aggie and with the way Aubie has been playing.

4.* Tennessee vs. South Carolina - Directly after the UGA game, there wasn't Vol fan that watched that game that didn't think we had what it took to beat USC. That should speak volumes because as the magic of the UGA game wore off during the bye week and game day got closer the post-traumatic-dooley-sufferers returned and doubted up to the moment it happened. However, long time watchers of Tennessee knew full well this team would have its upset against USC. I haven't seen a team play with this much heart against all odds in years.

1. Vanderbilt - they put up 17 in the 4th quarter
2. Ole Miss - they were entirely depleted
3. Auburn - went on the road and outscored JFF
4. Tennessee
5. Missouri

Anyone who says anything other than Ole Miss is insane. An unranked .500 team with 6 starters out along with 4 more major contributors beat a healthy top 10 team.

Ole Miss beat the best team. UT's was shocking in that they've looked god awful most of the season. Missouri's win was surprising in how much they just utterly dominated Florida.

I don't think Auburn over a defenseless A&M or Vandy over a depleted Georgia were that surprising.

What about an Unranked .500 team coming off back to back 5-7 seasons beating a healthy #11 team, with a roster that has a large percentage of walk-ons (11 have got playing time so far) and majority of true freshmen and sophmores at skill positions?

Of course not. I'm still not sure how we won or, more specifically, how our patchwork defense held LSU to under 400 yards. If you'd told me beforehand that we'd finish the game only +1 in TO margin and have a makeable field goal blocked, I would have said we'll lose.

Crushing? It was a bad loss no doubt but the game was @ Vandy, was very close statistically and Vandy won by 4 points.
