I think UGA beat GT in 2009. Tech finished 13 that year, I believe.

Despite fighting for bowl eligibility so often, GT stockpiles a good roster about once every 4 years.

Not sure what the biggest one was for Tennessee...this would be my list with the opponents ranking at the time of the game:

1991 @ #5 Notre Dame (who finished 10-3)
1998 @ #17 Syracuse
2004 @ #6 Miami (who finished 11-2)

Just a few years ago they did the home and home with us.

They embarrassed us at home and we embarrassed them in Austin.

Unfortunately for Mizzou, biggest noncon true road games were losses. We had a long time neutral site game with Illinois, which we won the 6 and only times in that stretch, which included beating the Rose Bowl rep in 2007.

Biggest Non Conference Road Win was 1978 defeating Notre Dame. ND coming off the National Championship in 77, and defeated the Irish led by Joe Montana, ended up finishing 6th in the polls. Dan Devine lost to his former school.

Its been awhile.

LSU - now that you put me on the spot, I googled past road OOC schedules and it’s kind of sad.

We lost at VA tech. Besides that we haven’t played at any major big name program.

This is aggravating. We need to go play some big names! At Texas next year they better be ranked.

Auburn's would have to be K-State in 2014, by default basically

You're right. One program is 65-39 in this decade. The other is 53-48. 0 upside for Mississippi State to play a mediocre program that's barely .500

He wasn't saying it's because State is bad and Texas is good. He's saying that Texas gets nothing out of a trip to a place with no TV presence, nothing to gain from recruiting and a national reputation as being one of the little guys in the SEC.

All they get is probably a loss and a lot of grief.

It's ridiculous that LSU was even forced to play a re-match game in order to win the National Title

Who should have they played?Oklahoma State?Oregon? (who they also defeated that year)

Bama was the clear #2 team in the country and it's how the BCS was designed to work...not perfect but sure as hell better than the old bowl system.

I would have to say it was Ole Miss beating Texas in Austin.
