Florida had a stint with Charley Pell and Galen Hall that was pretty rough. Jackie Sherrill is right up there.

Auburn and Bama combined have the most probations combined fot 2 schools from the same state in the same conference.

Auburn is the biggest CHEATER in the SEC.

Says a fan of the team from the former SWC.

Whatever happened to that conference anyway?

I think the medical term is "spontaneous cheating saturation collapse".

And if the NCAA had had evidence that Pat Dye had personally been involved in cheating, then they would have thrown a "show cause" order on him quicker than they could blink.

They had more than enough to end his career and prevent him from ever coaching again.

Under Pat Dye players were paid.

Players such as Brent Fulwood were not required to attend class.

Dye said Auburn helped Fullwood become a better man by allowing him to play football without attending class.

More Bama Babble, do you guys really believe this...

1) Dye was accused of directing a player to get a LOAN, he was NEVER accused of paying a player...
2) Brent F. did stop going to class his FALL semester, BUT he was 100% eligible to play, this was not and is not a violation and was not cheating...
3)See 2 above, Fullwood was going to the NFL, in that day and time we did not monitor class performance...
What does Fullwood have to do with cheating...

But IF you insist, how about setting up a class made up of only football players and get this the class was on Football...

The class was easy enough for Ahmad Childress, then a University of Alabama football player: Write about football.
For three credits one summer, Childress said, he and five teammates composed an entire football class that required only instructing a football camp for kids in Gulf Shores and writing a four-page essay.
"That was the whole class. I got an A," Childress said. "Yeah, it was a little weird, but sometimes you've got to do what you've got to do to be eligible."

NOW THAT IS HOW YOU CHEAT>>>> a class in football to get an A, only at Alabama and ONLY for football players...

Funny to read the Auburn bashing in this thread…especially considering that these issues occurred approximately 20- to 30 years ago

jesus christ

are we really arguing about which school cheats more?

it's Alabama and Auburn

both our programs have pulled shady shite and arguing which program is shady (and apparently arguing which program is going to be shadier in the future) is beyond pointless

sigh

the best cheaters we'll never really know what they pulled but the DUMBEST major cheater has got to be Jackie Sherrell

dude, seriously?

come on

you think Auburn has nothing but legitimate student athletes? Please tell me your just doing this to tweak some Alabama fan and that you are not naive enough to believe your entire team is showing up to class everyday and all doing their work

At least Ahmad Childress went to class and could read. Does anyone remember James Brooks?

Apparently you've never bothered to read the NCAA report on the infractions that cost Dye his job. As part of the penalties handed out they mandated Auburn terminate the head coach and athletic director, one Patrick Fain Dye.

Look it up here LINK

If say you resigned because your boss said you're fired, did you in fact have a choice?

They'd rather lecture Alabama fans about how the Langham case was about more than a "signed napkin" while simultaneously claiming that the Ramsey case was simply about "giving a few steaks to a hungry student athlete".

You mean the guy who everyone who knew him at Auburn said he could read but told the judge he couldn't read to try to get out of paying child support?

That James Brooks?

James Brooks could not read the court documents; this after graduating from Warner Robins High School in Georgia in 1977 and after spending at least four years at Auburn University in Alabama.
When asked by the judge how he graduated from Auburn, Brooks said, "I didn't have to go to class."

Under oath in a courtroom in front of a judge. I'm not saying he was lying in order to get out of child support but you've gotta have balls to lie in a courtroom. Or just stupid.

Brooks wasnt exactly illiterate, but he wasnt the best reader. The story about not going to class all four years was pretty much proven false, except his final season, which was pretty much normal for a lot of players across the NCAA during this time. As for passing, he scammed the system, like a lot of students do to this day. He had other students write papers and take test to help him pass.
