Mississippi State

1. Darren WIlliams S (Parade All American) never did much but get in trouble with the law, and was shot and killed about a year ago in Atlanta

2. Dontae Walker RB (Parade All American) Poor Work habids led to his demise along with weight gain, drugs, and problems with the law currently an inmate in the Mississippi Depart of Corrections.

Darren Williams was a much bigger bust than Walker. Williams was the #1 S in the country 5 star can't miss prospect that seems like couldn't get it together to get on the field. Atleast Walker played and started for much of his 4 years. Neither lived up to their potential, especially their NFL potential.

Demetrius Summers, big time in-state recruit.. only played I think 1 or 2 mediocre seasons. Oh yeah and Kenny Irons transferred to Auburn from SC because Summers was given his place at SC.

Chris Smelley, another big-time recruit who I believe held 1 or 2 AL high school QB records.. and, well, we all know how that turned out.

Billy Ray and Jeff Dunn. Ray was supposed to be the next Joe Namath at Alabama. As it turned out, nobody even remembers his name. At least, most people don't.

If not limited to football....I'd have to say Lester Earl for LSU in basketball. So much hype....such poor performance (before he skipped off to Kansas)

James Banks

All 5-star guys, all didn't pan out like 5-stars should have...ESPECIALLY Riggs.

For LSU I would have to be Cecil Collins and Ryan Perrilloux.

But here's a couple other guys. Damien James. Quit on the team. Never turned out as great as expected. And then Kendrick Allen. Never ended up being as great as projected.

The only name that popped up in my head was Collins, but I'm sure there are a few from further back I'm just forgetting.

Cecil Collins was not a bust. He was one of the best SEC backs I've ever seen. When someone has a problem with hanging out in women's closets and the like, it doesn't make them a bust. It makes them creepy. Cecil produced, he just couldn't stay out of legal trouble. Bust and criminal are two different things.

If there happens to be a "Creepiest player all time in the SEC" thread started, then Cecil "I was just sleepwalking" Collins would be near the top.
