The Attorney General's and TTU's apparent current position - that the Conference lacks authority under its Bylaws to sanction a member institution whose conduct the Conference Board determines to be sanctionable under Bylaw 3.6 - is directly contradicted by TTU's own prior conduct. The [2016] Baylor sanctions demonstrate that the Conference has previously exercised precisely the type of sanction authority it now seeks to invoke, and that TTU itself voted to authorize and impose those very sanctions without objection.

tech fans are threatening to go independent on their boards.

Cody Campbell will buy his way out of this because no one in college athletics administration has any balls.

So does that mean that the Big 12 and NCAA will disregard the TRO. Ole Miss said the courts gave them cover. I'm so confused!

I would love to see TTU try and go Indy. No school would play them. They’d have to pay $100m per year for some mid majors to do so. That would end them as a sports college

It means the Big 12 are asking a federal court for permission for the Big 12 to punish Texas Tech if they play Sorsby in a conference game. The NCAA isn't part of this suit.

The SEC is welcome to sue us in federal court if they don't like the state court ruling against the NCAA.

The university would never be this stupid. The fans are just venting because they are worried they are going to lose in the end.

That's not really what I meant to say. I should have said the NCAA considers a court's TRO is cover from them doing anything with the student athlete, in this case your quarterback. The inside of a court room to the NCAA is the boogey man.

Lets break this graphic down:

1) "One of our own we stand behind him" - no he's a mercenary on his 3rd school. You stand behind him cuz you want to win and you paid him a lot of money. If he was a swimmer on the swim team, he'd be banned from the NCAA and they would toss him on the street.

2) "The hate is loud because our rise is real" - No the hate is loud because you are breaking the most sacred rule in sports in the name of winning.

3) "He made a mistake, not a betrayal" - He made thousands of mistakes and he betrayed the integrity of the sport. There are levels to this shite and this isn't an "oopsie" kind of thing.

4)"They look for excuses, we make history" - You are literally making excuses for why its ok to bet on games. They are correct they are making history, just not the history they think they are making.

5)"He bet on us to win. Not against us." - He also bet on teams he currently played on, including betting an under. What dumbass allowed this to be included on this graphic?

6) "Texas Tech handles business on and off the field"- If that business is being hated and trying to ruin college athletics then they handle business in spades.

Big 12 is gonna have to punish Cincinnati while they’re at it for lying and concealing the crimes. Let’s see if they do it. That’s not governing bylaws equally.

The best part of all this is the threats from tech and from the Texas Attorney General allowed the big 12 to actually sue tech.

It basically flipped the order and allowed the Big 12 to sue first. Ordinarily, The big 12 would act in accordance with its bylaws and governing documents and then tech upset with a decision would sue. But because tech said "any action you will take, we will sue you." Now the big 12 can sue saying that threat interferes with their right to govern themselves. Which is significant for several reasons, not the least of which is that tech would have filed in state court and the big 12 filed in federal court.
