This isn't a surprise. At all.

So the son of the Ole Miss HC just committed to LSU..?
Well, that's embarrassing.

I don't really follow high school baseball recruits, so why was this not a surprise? Yeah, Bianco went to LSU, coached there, etc, but his son has grown up in Oxford. Bianco has been in Oxford for like 15 years now. Clicking on that twitter profile, he posts nothing but Ole Miss stuff until his commitment tweet. I mean most of his tweets are Ole Miss baseball retweets

Mike Bianco wanted his son to go elsewhere. No surprise he picked LSU.
ETA: I seem to remember hearing LSU or Louisville (Dan McDonell is a former OM assistant).

I wouldnt want to play for my dad either
Honestly wouldn't surprise me if Ben Miles went to Nebraska or somewhere other than LSU.

Good call, coaching your kid can be rough. He is going to a top notch program, will be interesting when they play each other.

He grew up in Oxford. He probably wants to get out and live somewhere else and probably doesn't want to play for his dad

Honestly, if I grew up in Oxford, I'd want to go to college somewhere else just to mix it up. I don't blame him all that much that he didn't want to be directly coached by his dad and wanted to go to his father's alma mater. This isn't surprising when you actually think about it.

This isn't really a big deal.
What player wouldn't want to play for one of the most successful programs in the history of college baseball?

He has said for years that he does not want his sons to play for him. Said that he did not want them to have to deal with the pressure of playing for their father or for them to worry that people thought the only reason they were starting or getting playing time is because their dad is their coach. The younger Bianco is even better, and he won't be going to Ole Miss either.

Sucks for us because they are both great baseball players but I can't fault Bianco for wanting his sons to be able to do their own thing and not have that added pressure and certainly can't blame the kids for choosing a different path. Good luck to him at LSU.

I grew up in Baton Rouge on LSUs campus basically and share that sentiment...and I went to Ole Miss despite still being a big LSU fan.
Ole Miss is fun as shite and stacked with ladies

I understand it. I wouldn't want to go to an SEC school without a football program either. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Where did the older one go after he played at Delgado?

“I’d like them to go somewhere where they make it or don’t and sink or swim on their own,” Mike Bianco said. “They don’t have to be the coach’s son. You’re not playing because you’re the coach’s son and you didn’t fail because you’re the coach’s son. Let them be Drew Bianco and Ben Bianco and (youngest son) Sam Bianco.
Now everyone LOL at the Tennessee fan in a baseball thread
