Meh, not really. Mostly just discussion about whether the guy that edited and posted the Kristi Malzahn video is a loser or not.

Mostly agreement that Kristi is at the least completely annoying and her video is a bit embarrassing.

A small debate about the definition of a public figure and some discussion about Chiz potentially pulling the reigns too tight on Malzahn.

You mean a thread is going the way it's supposed to?

No. Its a bunch of Auburn fans who think that the Kristi Malzahn "highlight" video that was posted on youtube is somehow different in substance than the unedited video that was originally posted on youtube.

Its as "out of context" as Sportscenter is when compared to an entire game.

A lot of the stuff Sportscenter shows is out of context to how an entire game looked.

You mean when they show 12 Blake Griffin dunks and then flash a score where the Clippers lost by 30?

And how is that analogous to the Kristi Malzahn original versus highlight reel?

It was your analogy.

is beneath unclassy. it is despicable to trash a coach's family even if true. i'd pay tickets to watch malzahn kick his arse.

But if I was thinking of hiring a player I might go back and watch some full games rather than spliced highlights. I doubt UNC or Kansas are smart enough to figure that out though.

Uh no, this was not my analogy:

I'm asking how does the "image of lots o' dunks in a loss" analogy reflect on the Malzahn video?

MY analogy would be that the dunks happened. Highlighting them doesn't make them less so. It appears that the Auburn position on this is that the edit somehow misconstrued what she was saying, and that it portrayed her in a negative light.

there are a few possible uncle harveys posting here

The self righteous attitude of LSU fans on this board is getting old. Auburn fans don't need you guys fighting their fights for them and you lecturing everyone on keeping things in perspective. You idiots rock the opposing teams bus and harrassed and your out of control mutant fans harrassed an elderly Auburn fan in a wheel chair a few years ago too. LSU fans have ZERO room to be lecturing anyone else on fan behavior. I cringe to think what you guys would do to a rival if you had one as intense as the Alabama/Auburn rivalry.

FWIW- I doubt the video had any impact whatsoever on Gus not getting those jobs. He got beat out by two guys with much more HC experience.

Yeah, I meant to post this earlier. I actually understand why Malzahn would make the move he did. He gets to work in familiar surroundings, where he has connections with prep coaches, build his resume and get HC experience, while taking over for a team with a good QB and recent success.

Oh, well that has already been answered. The video repeated throughout certain phrases that were used just once and it used them out of context. Such as, "Gus told me to Shut up." It also added commentary form the guy that made to try to influence the watcher to reach a certain conclusion about what was being said. For instance, implying that she had a sexual relationship or other inappropriate relationship with Cam simply because she said he was a pretty boy or good looking or whatever she called him. there are other examples, but it doesn't really matter. They were her words, none of which were that crazy absent the commentary and splicing. It was her demeanor and mannerisms (which were not edited) that made her appear a little off to me.

Yeah because rocking buses is the same as poisoning trees and harming an assistant coach's job prospects and family stability.

Yeah, I am surprised a little that he took the pay cut, but everything else about the job makes perfect sense and is a natural progression for a coach.
