What's your school's best and worst quarterback? For LSU I would say it's a toss up between Jamarcus Russell and Zach Mettenberger Russell had better numbers but also had Jimbo as his OC while Mett had cam for one year with the great Stud for his first. And for our worst QB Anthony Jennings no doubt

Bert Jones and YA Tittle was the best NFL QBs to go to LSU but their numbers while at LSU don't compare to Russell's and Mett's but it was also a bunch different era of football

Aaron Murray and David Greene were the best. Both were 4 year starters who broke many SEC and school passing records.

The worst? I'm sure many had bad numbers before the days of spread/vertical passing offenses, but I can't think of a QB who regressed more than Quincy Carter. His first season was promising and his last was embarrassing.

Best was probably Joe Namath. Worst was Freddie Kitchens.

Every QB coached under Croom. I really liked Croom, good man and all, but he could have taken a 5 star QB and destroyed him. He was loyal to his assistants to a fault and we both know 3 of them should have been fired.

Best ...

1 Connor Shaw
2 Jeff Grantz
3 Steve Taneyhill
4 Tommy Suggs
5 Todd Ellis
6 Phil Petty

We've had some othe good ones though like Ronnie Sunshine Bass, Bobby Fuller, Allen Mitchell, et al.

Worst

1 ... I'd hate to label one of the guys the worst but if I did it would probably have to be Dondriel Pinkins or Corey Jenkins under Holtz.

Best: Dak
Worst: Henig

Carroll led a Croom team to a bowl win so he automatically gets a pass. Henig never completed 50% of his passes in his career. Literally 4 years in the 40s. He once was so bad that he left a class after a professor ripped his God aweful performance without knowing he was even in the class.

Mike henig or Tyson Lee are the only acceptable answers for worst.

I'm biased because I was friends with Tyson. But Henig had a career completion percentage close to 40. Tyson was nearly 60%. His rating was also about 17 points higher. It's not really his fault that he was 5-10. We never should have been in the position to have a walk on as our starter for 2 years.
