Hmm, I'm unsure of a rushing stat vs Alabama. I do have a receiving one, which is LSU's all time record.

2001 vs Alabama
Josh Reed
19 Receptions
293 yards

I knew this was gonna get posted.

That was just insane.

I searched the SEC single game record last Saturday during the game because I thought Fournette had a shot at breaking it. I just googled SEC single game rushing record or something similar to that. I couldn't find a good list though that went past Tre Mason at 304

The SECSPORTS site had all of the all time stats a few years back but I can't find it anymore.

To the best I recall, he did not even have a TD

I was there.

Alexander was a man possessed. It was miserable.

He was a legit running back. He went nuts in an NFL Sunday Night Game I believe where he went off for almost 300.

That was a very frustrating game to watch, as a Bama fan. He just abused us all night.

Josh was a bad arse. How did he do in the pros?

8 seasons in the league but to be fair, he came into the league too soon. I didn't watch a ton of Bills football, but thinking back, I think Reed would have been a monster slot guy in the right system. I don't remember him having elite speed to get down field and he certainly didn't have the size to be a big outside/red zone target, but he could catch the ball. I bet he could have been great getting those tough over the middle passes a lot of other guys don't want to try for.

Also, Is Alexander's performance the best all time for a RB vs another SEC team? His 4 TD and 291 yds performance has to be in the top 5.

Eighth overall. Fifth in conference games.

Was there as well, and the funny thing is is Alexander had barely touched the ball that season until that game. He was known as being lazy in practice, and reluctant to want to learn pass blocking. Curtis Alexander and Dennis Riddle were the main backs that season. After his first TD run, buddy and I thought it was Curtis Alexander, then we were all "who the hell is Shaun Alexander?" I want to say Riddle was injured that game, and that's the only reason Shaun saw the field, but I may be wrong on that.

Great day/night in Baton Rouge. One of my favorite memories from my time as a Bama student.

I didn't find an entire list for the SEC, but LSU's top 5 vs SEC competition is :

1) 284 - Leonard Fournette (Ole Miss 2016)
2) 250 - Alley Broussard (Ole Miss 2004)
3) 232 - Cecil Collins (Auburn 1997)
4) 228 - Leonard Fournette (Auburn 2015)
5) 213 - Harvey Williams (Kentucky 1990)

N/A because we have an upcoming bye week so I'll have to go with LF against our most recent opponent.

CAR YDS AVG TD LONG

16 284 17.8 3 78

Coming off injury it appears that Coach O intended it to be a light workout with only 16 carries. It's a stretch but I'd say that he'd have come pretty close to Alexander's 291 with another 10 carries. Maybe...

LF7 284(16 rushes) vs Ole Miss needs to be added thank you very much

Sidenote, LF7 has the least amount of carries on that list at 16
