It would take too long to go through all the box scores, but off the top of my head the best rushing performance I can think of for an LSU player against Alabama was Kevin Faulk in 1997. He had 27 carries for 169 yards and 2 TDs

Same. That was a miserable day.

Honestly...I was also there when SA made our D look silly. Totally unexpected as he certainly wasn't being hyped like LF or any other GOAT SEC RB. One of the few times that I've seen an LSU defense quit.

I hate you Gumps for the right reasons and that's a compliment. I'll just say that the betting line is where it should be and LSU has something to prove.

8 seasons in the league but to be fair, he came into the league too soon.

Very true. And he wasn't a polished WR out of LSU as he was a converted RB. He wasn't a burner but understood separation, timing, and had great hands.

I remember we played Illinois in the Sugar Bowl that year. They had 2 CBs that were both projected 1st rounders, and they were trash talking how they were going to shut down Reed. They both lost their pride and a lot of money that day after Reed caught 14 passes for 239 yds and 2 tds. Michael Clayton chipped in with 8 for 120. Was a great day =)

I remember Lattimore had 212 on Florida in 2010, and then like 250 or something on Navy in 11. Before the knee, he was the best back in the country, hands down.

You got a mud bug stuck up your arse or are you just a miserable person all the time?

This threads has been pretty informative and mostly flame free (been a couple dick heads like you try to flame it up).

Thanks to NYAubie for the list and link and everyone else who participated.

Yep, his size helped him with his YAC, a lot of those yards came on quick slants where he broke the first tackle. Beastly at WR.

I was at the S Alexander coming out party! He ran all over us. Wasn't Gene Jelks injured as well for Bama that day? Or am I confusing the year?

I feel like 75% of his yards came on bubble screens, which basically were running plays. But he did have an uncanny ability to get lost in the defense a couple times for wide open catches each game for huge gains

Trying to find some standout rushing performances vs bama. This is depressing to look through.

Jeremy Hill went over 100 in 2013 but didn't even have 4 YPC
Charles Scott had a couple of nice games with high YPC but didn't break 100

The Shula era is nice to look at but even then no one great individual performance, lots of good splits among Hester/Broussard/Vincent

Looking at the 2000 game, who the frick was Ahmaad Galloway for Bama? fricker went for 21 169 1 TD against us

A&M has 0 rushing yards against New Mexico State. We're so terrible.

Kevin Faulk went for 169 and 2 TDs in 1997 in a 27-0 win in Tuscaloosa.

Sports reference doesn't have any box scores pre 2000, I'm not searching anymore. That was depressing enough

i took a little time earlier. they're on lsusports.net if you go to the stats section. you can pull up handwritten box scores dating pretty far back. even the greats like dalton, alexander, etc, had pretty bad performances against Alabama. Nothing more than totals in the 80s. Faulk and Hill may be two of only a handful of 100 yard rushing performances ever against Alabama. Faulk actually had 201 yards and a TD against Alabama in 1998 in a loss as well. I'd just view the 1997 as a "better performance" because it was in a beatdown.

Don't feel bad, Bama had this unbelievable tat for the defense not giving up an 100 yds performance to a RB for like 3-4 years maybe longer. I think it was Hill who broke it.
