Mickey Sidenstricker. Played one year at Bama in the 50s on the Freshman team. Yeah, they had those back then. Think he wound up playing at Marshall. One of the best basketball players I ever saw.
Edit: Found this on a Marshall board:

The best player I have seen vs. Marshall was St. John's Mel Davis.
Who remembers John Milhoan and Mickey Sidenstricker?
Without benefit of 3-pointers, Maravich averaged 44 points per game for his career. A player today would have to average less than 30 points per game over 4 years (124 games), with the added benefit of 3-pointers, to equal Maravich's career record 3,667 points (in only 83 games). Yet, no one can do it.

Good thread. I'll go with Cadilac Williams (assuming nicknames are allowed). Barkevious Mingo is pretty memorable too.

Yeah, Aromashodu was an awesome name. Georgia used to have a WR named Muhammed Massaqua or something. Jasper Sanks was pretty good. And Chris Smelley. Kentucky had a RB named Artose Pinner.

I remember Sanks. 5 star can't miss rb that didn't amount to anything.

For some reason, the name Freddie Kitchens stands out to me.

He was just an average quarterback. Highly regarded coming out of high school with a big arm. He could over throw with the best of em. I know him personally. Pretty good coach right now.

I had no idea he was coaching so long. Been with Cardinals a long time. When he graduated he was pretty high on their career passing list.
