Herbie's All nighter. I had totally forgotten about that place. Terrible food, but loved to hear Herbie just verbally haze people.

Who did you know that worked there?
By chance did you know:
Jason B
Scott C
John H
Chad Y
Christa K
Brian J
Tammy Nance worked there awhile. She was WSP drummer Todd Nance wife.
You are right about the crowds. We often had as many folks on the sidewalk and in the alley connecting to Nowhere Bar as we had inside Uptown.

Harry's Bar in Tuscaloosa back in the '70s. Was a dive, but so fun.

He was a marine reserve and was separated shortly after. He spent more time in the process of separating than serving

From a college bartender…..
The bengal was a great bar in its day, Fred’s was great older student bar, Mac Banks Supper club was a blast in its day if MIss State wants to claim it,
but The Warehouse was just the fricking cheers of college bars.
The day it burned down, i remember standing in the soot with with my roommates looking over the smoldering scene while dozens, and i mean dozens of sorority girls hugged each other and cried like babies, Ole Miss was never the same ever again. (i didn’t work there)
The pictures of Kamikaze’s, those big arse Fosters cans, i danced with mrs america there once, (Susan Aiken), was there the night Lynn died in the jeep wreck, and they tried to get me to go with them to the GIn or some shite etc.
I was thrown out a few times, banned once but loved the place more than life itself.
There was even little notecard with my name on it that said “My Name gets no tequila”
It’s the only reason I stayed at Ole Miss after my dad died, I had my frat brothers but my Warehouse family really took better care of me and helped me through everything. Wednesday nites when the regulars hung out was best nite of the week. I went 3 to 5 times a week until the old lady burned to the ground, one of the saddest days of my life. At the time was right behind my fathers death. I am sure I shed a tear.
You know of another bar or place that had that much love and affection from its regulars let me hear about it.
Bizarrely, our hated rival bar the shitty “Gin” also burned to the ground many years later
warehouse tent etc
“The Warehouse….It’s not a house it’s a home. “

Dixie Chicken in CS used to be amazing before the old man died. When I was in school it was $3.25 Pitchers and $2.50 at Happy Hour and they sold more beer per square foot than any bar in the US. Then they cleaned up Northgate and made it all touristy. Food isn't as good either. Still nice to go by but not what it used to be.

I remember having tabs open at Roadhouse and El Centro at the same time, and just hopping back and forth through the alley.

Showing my age here. Ricky’s, located at the UF golf course, was always jam packed in the late 70’s early 80’s. First place I every had Buffalo style chicken wings.

I had a buddy who attended UA in the early 80s and would go visit him. I remember Harry's being fun, but I thought the Sidetrack was a fun place. AU in the 80s had the War Eagle Supper Club, Waldo Peppers and Mothers. They had a bunch of bars that would offer 7 for 1 drinks. Today Bars would be sued for those specials.

I knew Leo. He was screwing a girl for a long time that was my girlfriend’s roommate. I helped him move some furniture into his apartment in Five Points near Lighthouse restaurant.

Lowerys was good to start Thursday night with nickle night but we ended up at Uptown or Washington street Tavern
My neighbors were 20 and one knew the owner of Uptown and they were always allowed in. Many nights we just tipped well and never paid the tab. One night, buddy asked for a Wild Turkey and Coke. Bartender poured a fifth into a pitcher and told him to finish it.
Many a pissed drunk night and that was where I frequented most. Oh, almost forgot because it was so long ago. Was in line for the bathroom, walk in and a girl was positioned backwards to pee in the urinal.

Dave’s Dark Horse Tavern in Starkvegas is a great dive bar with excellent food too.
Plus it gets extra credit for a really cool name.
