How about this, Texas has been to Omaha a lot more than LSU and it isnt close, any disputing that?

LSU is not miles behind Texas, that’s silly, but Texas has made 38 of the 77 College World Series.
They are the most consistent top-tier program in college baseball.
Sure they have a rich history, but let's bifurcate timeframes here starting in 1947 when the CWS started.
1947-1984
Texas: 22 CWS appearances, 4 national titles
LSU: 0 CWS appearances, 0 national titles
1985-2024
Texas: 16 CWS appearances, 2 national titles
LSU: 19 CWS appearances, 7 national titles
So for the last 40 years, LSU has had a more successful program. LSU has had more recent success than Texas as well, winning 2 titles since their last one.

CWS titles: MSU 1, UF 1
CWS runner up: UF 3, MSU 1
CWS appearances: UF 14, MSU 12
SEC titles: UF 16, MSU 11
CWS runner up: UF 3, MSU 1
CWS appearances: UF 14, MSU 12
SEC titles: UF 16, MSU 11

Here is how you determine the answer to this question….would any LSU baseball fan trade places with any other program?
The answer is a resounding NO.
Would any Texas baseball fan trade places with any other program?
The answer is yes, the majority would trade for LSU’s success.
There, now sit down and argue against those metrics…

Lol I have been a Texas baseball fan for 30+ years and the only time I heard anyone care about LSU was briefly in the 90s and you NIL bat maker.
Other than that no one in Texas would trade places with LSU baseball. One natty separates the programs with a lot of average finishes from LSU baseball. That would get you canned at Texas where making Omaha is the standard.
We will never agree so might as well just say both programs are very good and move on....

Are you saying Texas has higher standards in baseball than LSU?

Yea making the CWS is a great achievement, but should not be the barometer, especially when you have less titles and lost a head to head title to lsu.
And in those 20 extra cws that you’ve been to, six of those were 2 and bbq. Five appearances you won 1 game. And 10 you won 2 games and were sent packing.
That’s at least 20 appearances right there where you basically got there and made no noise.
So congrats on beating up the swc and big12 to get there I guess?
history matters but I wouldn’t be touting all those cws APPEARANCES as my claim to being the best program.

lol wat?
For one, LSU literally beat Texas in the CWS finals in 2009. Second, LSU has led the nation in attendance every single year except the COVID year for like 25 years straight. Your statement doesn't even make sense. LSU is easily the most well known "brand" in college baseball and have been for several decades now. That goes beyond whatever historical arguments you want to make about which program is better in your opinion. Everyone in college baseball "cares" about LSU baseball (what they're doing, etc) and have for a long, long time. If you actually have been following the sport for 30 years, you'd know that.

Nope, Both programs have the highest standards and can argue either way who is the better all time.
I am arguing if Texas didn't make it to Omaha for 5+ years the coach is likely canned. At LSU that did not happen all time as clearly evidenced by the amount of times LSU has made it vs Texas.
Until Skip Bertman LSU baseball was pretty average to below average.

Doesn't matter if you went 2 and BBQ if you dont win the natty. Everyone knows (hence the dogpiling and reason why Omaha is special) the order of importance is natty then Omaha every season.
Congrats on the many average to below average seasons where you didn't get there at all ;)

You misunderstood, your previous remark was that Texas Baseball fans would trade places with LSU.
I am saying I have NEVER heard a Texas baseball fan say anything about LSU except in the 90s, yes when you beat Texas in 09, and your current NIL baseball bat advantage. We would not trade places with you, thats all I was saying.
I am not disputing LSU is historically a top 5 program and arguable top 1,2, 3, 4, or 5 depending on what you feel is most important.

We have already surpassed Arkansas with last years national title. Arkansas has never won a national title in school history.
Tennessee is also the only program in the country to average 50 or more wins over the last 4 years.

Yes Tennessee has a national title. So does Georgia and Mizzou. They are not historical powers

Now you are just an idiot and I’ll stop the reply loop….any school would trade places with the LSU baseball success since 1990….everyone who dates the opposite sex would prefer to see 7 National Championships over 3….if not then you are gay, sorry.
No one on this board was alive in the 50’s…
