Yeah people won't even consider that other more recent backs have equal arguments. McFadden has an argument, Henry, Najee, Leonard Fournette, etc.

On the contrary, I think people give more credit to recent backs because fewer saw the older backs play. Recency is a thing. All you mentioned were great backs, but none dominated their peers like Bo Jackson and Herschel Walker.
They were bigger, stronger and faster than their peers at the time.

Kevin Faulk. Seriously it is hard to say, but Bo, Henry and Walker would be in the mix.

McFadden wasn't even the best RB on his own team. Hillis had the same yards per carry and Felix Jones averaged over 3 yards/carry more than McFadden.

In the Old SEC:

1. Herschel Walker
2. Bo Jackson

Everyone else.

Modern passing offenses have opened up running lanes and have greatly inflated stats for running backs.

Nick Chubb has more career yards and a higher YPC than every running back you listed.

McFadden was so good college football blueblood Misery shut him down and destroyed Arkansas 38-7 in the 2008 Cotton Bowl.

Case closed!

I think you can make a great case for the greatest waste of talent ever when you talk about Bo Jackson and professional sports.

He did lead the major leagues in one stat - Strikeouts.

Number of 1000 yard seasons in the NFL…pretty sure that was zero. I think he got close once though.

Yes he has some absolutely amazing clips. But a few spectacular plays are outweighed by overall performance.

He has recently lied about his businesses and non existent college degree. Also there apparently is a lot more dirt about to come out as we get closer to the general election. Herschel is trying to avoid the press and debating since these issues are sure to come up. Republicans - at least many of them - are unhappy that he is their candidate. They are fully aware that there are enough skeletons in his closet to fill a graveyard.

His skeletons are equivalent to Warnock.

If you want to make an argument, "are these the 2 best candidates that we can come up with?" Then i can agree with you.

Herschel actually admits his faults and worked to improve himself with them. Warnock? Not so much. He is more of the duck and cover candidate. We can take this to the PT board if you prefer.

Hershel admitted his faults in his book. But he then continued to lie and apparently do other bad things after his “recovery”. I bought his book when it first came out and at first was sympathetic to what he said he had gone through. Over time it has come to look like that that book and the multiple personality diagnosis was possibly a ploy to get out of some very serious domestic violence charges. His business practices are now under scrutiny as well as a multitude of other things. And refusing to debate and hiding from the press is making him look even more guilty
No need to move this discussion. I’ve said what I wanted to say. We should hear more about Herschel’s troubles soon enough.

A conservative under scrutiny from the mainstream media?

UNPOSSIBLE

How guilty did Biden look avoiding debates and hidin in his basement?
Walker is avoiding debates because he isnt good at them. It is actually the smart strategy to play to a candidate's strengths. Biden won.

To go along with:

Wisconsin (10-3; ranked #21)
Ole Miss (10-3; ranked #10)
Georgia (10-3; ranked #24)
Tennessee (9-4; ranked #22)
LSU (9-3; ranked #16)
Florida (10-4; ranked #25)
Michigan State (12-2; ranked #6)
Clemson (14-1; ranked #2)

And of the 14 FBS teams Alabama played that season, only one of them (UL-Monroe) didn't play in a bowl game. And 12 of the 15 teams finished with 8 or more wins. Auburn and MTSU both were 7-win teams while UL-Monroe was a 2-win team. Charleston Southern, while an FCS school, finished ranked in the Top 10 of the FCS that season and made it to the Quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs. When you count them, seven of Alabama's 15 opponents in 2015 won 10 or more games.
