So traveling to L.A. From east tn to play usc in their home stadium....80 or so yrs ago...think about that.

Also, the players that couldnt make the trip due to family needs.

Oh so now it's "hurrr durrrr, he was trolling?" FOH with that weak arse excuse. Everyone here has seen how a lot of the UGA fan base has acted since the middle of last season.

Look, I get it. We all talk shite and rib each other here, but a ton of UGA posters are acting like the dawgs are the next team to go on a run like bama is on. It hasn't happened before them and probably won't for a long time, but UGA had a good year last year. Everybody better watch the frick out.

As long as it has been since y'all have won a natty, you would think you would learn to be patient and not so fricking entitled.

Rant over. Continue "trolling" away.

Would you accept a shared best UGA/AU?

why would it be shared when we had a better overall record and a national title (which they did not) and only 1 less SEC title?

In all the threads on here comparing the next grouping of teams behidn bama all time (granted most people only troll so probably aren't putting a whole lot of thought into it) the one thing people drop UGA for is lack of titles. Our SEC titles, wins, win percentage, bowl wins, etc are all top notch, but people always just say 'yeah but you only have 2 titles'. So now in this exercise, we actually DO have that trump card but it doesn't count? That doesn't make sense.

Our 1983 title is a lot more impressive than your 1980 title when UGA wasnt even the best or most deserving team due to a pitiful schedule. UGA was 5-6 in 1979 and if they had played a respectable schedule in 1980 they would have had several losses as well.

Also, AU played a MUCH more difficult schedule than UGA in the 1980s. We played Bama, UF, Tenn, Florida and Florida State ever year in the 80s (and Georgia). Also Texas and Miami multiple years. We won more SEC titles. We won more head to head vs UGA. We almost certainly played the toughest overall schedule of any program in the country during the 80s and it probably isnt close.

And you want to claim UGA was just as good because you have a less worthy 1980 team and a few more overall wins against a hell of a lot weaker schedule. And despite multiple publications like sports illustrated naming AU the SEC team of the 80s?

Lol. Gtfo out of here with that ignorant shite leg humper.

You post about that damn 1983 SOS in almost every thread, good Lord man let it go. We're talking about black and white facts here. UGA= more wins. UGA= national title. AU- less wins and no title. In what way does that make them the team of the decade?

you're the one that thinks AU has a deserved right to call 2004 a national title so whatever you think is essentially worthless.

Florida has a legitimate claim to 2000's as well. Both won their division 4 times, won 3 SEC championships, and 2 national championships. Extremely close, if not a dead heat.

If cant understand my post and think every team win 1 or 2 more wins over a decade is better regardless of schedule, you are not worth my time.

Bama went six times from 1925-1945 and was 4-1-1. It can be done. It was worse in 1925 than 1939. Stomped USC in their home stadium 34-14 in 1945 and it was not nearly that close.

Neyland was a great coach. None are perfect. Not Saban, not Bryant, Rockne, etc.

You won an SEC title but not a NC in 1983. You didn't even finish 2nd. UGA won a NC in 1980, attested by both wire service polls. Those things may not be true in your mind, but most of the college football media and public accept the wire service polls. Any malcontent can dispute every year.

You won in 57, even though on probation, then again in 2010, even though it was with a stained Cam. Be thankful for your 2.

Nothing stained there, chief. Name another NC team who was investigated so thoroughly and found not guilty and was even applauded for how they handled it. Sorry that doesn't fit your narrative, but it's the truth.

As to your other pints, you clearly didn't read TIM's post.

1950s was Ole Miss. they won the SEC championship twice and were usually second or third when they did not win it.

Georgia is definitely not the future of college football, they're not even king of their conference nor the SEC East.

With my non-SEC glasses on, Florida is the leader of the SEC East, even during years when they're mediocre.

Both won 2 BCS titles, 3 SEC titles, and 2 additional BCS bowls. We also won a Heisman and went 6-4 against them but it could honestly go either way.

Ole Miss had college football’s second best program of the 50s and was the only SEC team in the top 10 of the decade. Easy choice there really.

Best from each decade.

Edit: GT was in the league at that time. Always slips my mind. Still, Rebs are the clear choice.

Wrong. Georgia dominated the 1980s, even winning an NC, and played for a few others
