If you’re just looking at the Heisman year he is likely the favorite. Guy was lights out all year.
It’s hard for me to compare Burrow to Cam because the situations are so different. Burrow rewrote records books and Cam took a team full of scrubs + Fairley and physically carried them to a NC. Cam wasn’t always on, but stepped up when he needed to. Burrow and LSU looked like a freaking NFL team for most of the season.

The best Heisman winner EVER was one who didn't win the heisman. His name is Adrian Peterson. AKA A.D.

Hershel Walker dominated the entire world on an okay offense. Everyone literally knew where the ball was going and couldn't stop him. I find it hard to compare Joe to what he did for three years especially his heisman year. He should have won it as a freshman too!!! He did it at 18, 19, and 20. Joe did it at 24.

Joe just turned 23 this month.
The difference between a QB and running back is in the responsibility to read defenses and command a team on the field. Joe may not be able to run over or around people like Hershel Walker, who undoubtedly is one of the greats, but it is Joe’s ability to be an on-field coach, to adapt, to react, to direct an 11-man squad as a cohesive unit, and be an incredibly accurate passer that makes him so special. What a QB has to do in his position is so much more complex and demanding than what a running back has to do is why whenever there is a great QB and great RB both (or most any other position) up for Heisman at the same time, the QB will win most of the time.

Herschel find me somebody who did more with less. Put a mediocre team on his back and won a national championship and did it for 3 straight years.
Posted on 12/14/19 at 11:42 pm to NCdawgfan34
This whole crown him the best ever crap after 1 year is amazing. Do it for two straight years and wr can talk and do it for more than two than just maybe they might enter the top 20 players ever.

Not saying Hershel wasn’t incredible. He was, and deserves all the accolades he has received, and I am certainly not disrespecting him, but just pointing out that comparing great running backs to great quarterbacks is not really easy. The positions require such different skills and abilities that direct comparisons are not all that helpful. Joe had two years as a starter, and one year in the system he is running, which makes his performance all the much more remarkable, not less. Imagine what things would have looked if he had had this system for three years as a starter.

Well, our QB did just win the Heisman tonight by the highest ever percentage. That was his 3rd prestigious award this week. Oh, and we are making a National Championship run right now too, so you’re just going to suck it up and swallow for a while longer.

Does OU actually graduated students or do they just tag and release you back into the world?
