Why do they keep putting Archie Griffin on these lists, dude doesn't belong in the Top200 players all time
TWO Heisman trophies puts him there in their opinion.

Auburn also ran the ball significantly more. Burrow only averaged .6 more YPA. Not much considering Cam didn’t not have a single player that caught a pass in the NFL

I’m surprised Trevor Lawrence isn’t on the list. I mean he beat bama that one time.

They also forgot Joe Namath ...

Bryant called Namath "the greatest athlete I ever coached".

He was hurt (knee) for much of his college career, plus it was almost impossible for an offensive skilled player to rack up stats during the Bryant years...Coach wouldn't allow it.
It's true that Namath (and Charles Cleveland) were the best athletes (football, baseball, basketball, track, etc.) to ever come through the Univ. of Alabama.

And?

Good for him, but him getting 2 Heismans before widespread TV that gave more players a platform along with other factors that favored mediocre players like him, doesn't make him an all timer

Where would you rank Griffin on an all time list

My guess is you can name 100 SEC Players that were better FB players than he was

I understand it is their opinion, but IMO their opinion is a crappy one

The fact that Baker is on here but not Derrick Henry = no click from me.

May be a minority opinion, but: Lamar Jackson is too high. He had some nuclear stats, but Louisville had a tough time in big games. That's gotta count for something. I get that he's elite in the NFL, but if that were a criteria, people like Vince Young and Tim Tebow wouldn't even be on this list.

The fact that there are so many runningbacks toward the top shows how relatively young spread offense is in college football's existence.

Nowadays, the Heisman is a QB's award minus a few exceptions every now and then.

Derrick Thomas?

List is garbage... several on there do not belong

However just for fun, how many of those players won at least one NC while at their school?

Wuerffel isn't on there either, and IMO his college career should put him there first.

There is no way to legitimately put mayfield on a list of 50 greatest of all time. ridiculous. he transferred to OU because he couldnt beat out mahomes for starting job at texas tech. mariota also not remotely close to top 50. what a joke.

Cam only threw the ball 280 times.

Burrow threw 527 passes. And he completed 10% more of them with 1 less interception.

They both had great years but Burrow’s passing numbers significantly outpace Newton’s.
