It's just a matter of when, not if, so yes, it's a given. You can't put toothpaste back in the tube once somebody fires the first salvo in a la carte TV service and SlingTV has done that. AT&T, Hulu, Google, and Youtube are hot on their heels. It will be over before cable companies, which are run like sloth utility companies, even know what hit them.

The smell of many thousands of cows shitting in that stockyard çarries for a long ways.
You must just be used to the smell.
Not the kind of place associated with beautiful SEC campus towns and tailgating.

Ala carte seems like a perfect venue for a Big 12 Network then.

I say Oklahoma should join the SEC but only in the following scenario:
1. They have to leave little brother Ok St in the Big 12 or Sunbelt. The SEC does not want Ok St.
2. Oklahoma has to replace Missouri. Missouri is out of the SEC.
3. Oklahoma is in the SEC East. I hope you guys like long road trips.
Would Oklahoma join the SEC with these terms?

Why not move Auburn? Natural rivalries with UGA and Florida, not bad travel. Just makes sense.

Yeah and I'm ready for a threesome with Kate Upton and Genie Bouchard. Neither is going to happen.

Oklahoma will win the SEC before Texas A&M

They sure are pushing this agenda down arent they?

But you guys would then lose your precious game with Tennessee every year.

Definitely agree on 1 and 2, but I would like them to be in the West. I'd be ok with trading Auburn to the East in exchange for Oklahoma. Then, if we go to 16, we snag UT and West Virginia from the collapsing Big 12 and call it a day.

Mizzou rejoins their traditional rivals Kansas, K-St, and Nebraska in the Big 10, who kicks out Maryland and Rutgers to the ACC.
The Pac 12 picks through the wreckage and decides which 4 out of BYU, Boise St, Hawaii, Nevada, UNLV, Colorado St, Baylor, TCU, Texas Tech, OK St, and Iowa St to add.

Oklahoma may have missed their opportunity. I wish the SEC conference was small enough to play each team more often.
I know that would piss off LSU fans that are so frightened of Florida, but that's just the way I feel.
I thought LSU would own UF when Spurrier left. If coach McElwain keeps beating you guys, maybe you can go to the big 12. Swapp with OU. That conference could show you how to play offense and y'all could show them how to play defense.

I didn't see this posted, but if Oklahoma isn't attached to ok st, why not add WV and keep the divisions? You'd get 2 tv markets, given I'm not sure either would bring in much money. I'm not saying they should do an expansion at all, but if one were to happen, this would see to me, to be the most logical.

I'd like this but until they take strength of schedule into consideration, the SEC would be lucky to get their Championship winner into the playoffs. Not long ago the top 3 teams in the Nation were SEC schools.
Auburn got left out in 04 partly due to their SOS but it was probably as tough as most teams play every year that are not in the SEC.

West Virginia brings less than nothing to the table. That's a nonstarter period.

The idea here is that we end up with 4 16 team super conferences, the champions of which make up the 4 teams in the College Football Playoff.
There would be essentially a North (Big 10), South (SEC), East (ACC), and West (PAC) conference absorbing the remnants of the Big 12. Currently, there are 14 teams in the SEC, Big 10, and ACC, and 12 teams in the PAC 12. That means they have room to add 10 teams total to their current rosters. There are 10 current Big 12 teams and 2 independents which most would agree are worthy of being in the big boy leagues (BYU and Notre Dame). Then, there's the large host of teams in mid-majors that would be on the bubble (Cincinnati, Temple, UConn, Army, Navy, Air Force, Nevada, UNLV, Hawaii, Fresno St, San Diego St, Memphis, Houston, La Tech, Tulane, ECU, UCF, USF, SMU, Rice, etc).
Basically, the end result would be 4 conferences composed of all of the same teams in the current P5 conferences, except with maybe 1 or 2 teams being left out to make way for Notre Dame and maybe BYU.

That's why I put Missouri there instead of the trade for W.Virginia. It looks like an either /or the way I put them, but Missouri is better than W Virginia. I agree with you.

Morgantown is a cool college town. Their fans are a-holes on par with Florida fans though, but their stadium allows drinking, and it's pretty loud for its size. My friends who made the trip up to Morgantown in 2011 really enjoyed it. They're also not without their history. This is a program that's played in many BCS Bowls, regularly sends players to the NFL, and is 14th in total program wins. While West Virginia is not on the same level of Florida St in prestige, it is definitely a step up from several current SEC members and essentially every remaining Big 12 member not named Texas or Oklahoma.
West Virginia would be a fun road trip for SEC schools and a worthy addition in both football and basketball at minimum. Expansion talks centered around TV Markets and recruiting are just boring. Only in a money-centered debate would NC State be considered a better addition than West Virginia.
FYI, I don't hate Mizzou. I just think that they belong with their traditional rivals in Kansas, K-St, and Nebraska. I think all of those schools make more sense in the Big 10 than the SEC.
