Yeah that’s not really a key predictor of QB success lol

Neither is 40 yard dash or vertical jump(the two Richardson getting praise about)

I never had a question about SB's arm strength. So, this report doesn't surprise me. I don't know if it's age or race, but I don't understand the SB doubts anymore. SB, in my opinion, was a better college QB than Bryce and SB should be a 1st rounder. And, I predict wherever SB is drafted he will play early. I don't think a team will draft him to ride the pine and learn.

I think Richardson is a bit better as a QB than many are saying. I do think Richardson is a project though. Mullen getting fired was no benefit to Richardson. To me Richardson is a better passer at this time than Lamar Jackson.

He’s obviously a freak athlete. Worth a draft pick, will probably go higher than he “should” based solely on that but that happens every year at all sort of positions.

Gee, out of all teams’fans, you would think a Tennessee fan would be very familiar with Bennett’s arm.

Also, as far as age goes, I think of all the QBs at the combine only Young, Stroud, and Richardson are younger than 23 and plenty of others are at least 24. Hall is older than Bennett.

So the 4 MVP's of the playoff and NC games and winning B2B natties doesn't count in your world, eh?

Jesus Christ.

Yeah, he's a loser. It doesn't count if it's not Bama. You know this.

He was named MVP of every playoff game he played in.
Were they wearing t-shirts and shorts in the Peach Bowl and NCG this past season?

Sorry. You probably didn't watch since your team wasn't there.

Honestly....I did to a point. He could throw the ball a long way, but (to me) he seemed to put a bit more air under the ball when going deep. I hope he does well in the NFL, but I don't really watch the NFL or care a whole lot.

He's inarguably shorter than most top QB picks. You can't argue otherwise.

He threw hard. Unless I missed it, that was his big combine performance.

He'll get drafted, that's not even in question. The real question is what role he'll be asked to fulfill.

His reason for not being mentioned as a QB who would get drafted (and yes, that was a thing coming into the combine) have been:

1 - He's short. (predicting a 5'8" or 5'9" height). He measured at 5'11.5", which effective makes him a 6 foot QB. Below the 6'2" that scouts like to see, but essentially the same height or taller than Baker Mayfield, Tua, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray, Michael Vick and Bryce Young.

2 - He's got a weak arm. His arm strength ended up being pretty good. He'd already shown good arm strength on the field this past year (improving significantly from last season), but this confirmed that.

3 - Overall physically unimpressive. He recorded the 6th best QB 40 time, 6th best vertical, 6 best long jump, first 20 yard shuttle (9th best overall at any position) and had decent hand size (one of a hand full over 10 inches).

He basically answered all the negatives he had coming into the combine, because they were all about his physical stats, not what he did on the field.

Getting drafted WAS a question. It's probably not now.

Right now I think it's a fair question to ask: why isn't Bennett being looked at as the 5th-7th QB taken in this draft? Because that would mean a 3rd to 4th round grade. It's not production... he wasn't a heisman finalist because of a lack of productivity. Physically it's not arm strength or even a lack of height. Many of the other guys in that range (Jaren Hall, Malik Cunningham or Jake Haener) are effectively the same height.

Seems to pretty much be at this point "he was a 2-star out of high school".

That's funny talk coming from a Sooner fan. Dillon Gabriel isn't even worthy to have his name spoke in the same sentence as Bennett. When, or should I say IF, Oky can find a half-way decent QB you can start criticizing the elite QBs of the SEC. Perhaps when they join the SEC, at least they'll be in a real conference, so maybe they'll be able to actually recruit a decent one, so fear not, there's hope.

That's a heck of a thing to say coming from an Arky fan. Ironically I actually think very highly of KJ Jefferson. Too bad he doesn't have a decent team around him to help him exploit his talents.

Most guys have stronger arms at 27 like Stetson, than at 20-21 like most of the other prospects. The other guys still have room to get stronger and grow as QBs, Stetson has already hit full potential

Bennett gonna have a long career as a backup and spot starter like AJ McCarron. Not bashing. The kid has the ability to play in the NFL but I don’t think he has the talent for someone to commit to building their franchise around him.
