But we have the constants because of the rivalries. So this allows you to continue to have them. Y'all are such fricking hypocrites.

Which proves MY point that Bama could give a shite about the DSOR. They want UT. As soon as Alleva plays the politics and says swap UT with Mizzou, we go to 6-2 and AU and UGA can get railed.

it was the only structure that Bama would sign off on.
Doesn't mean it wasn't also the best.

Look at LSU's record since expansion and the look at Ole Miss'. Tell me how is it fair that LSU gets to play Ole Miss every year while Ole Miss has to play LSU?

Because every team in the West plays every other team in the West. Are you fricking serious with this shite?

I am also not aware of any year where it has lead to a clearly better team missing out on the SEC Championship game due to playing a harder non-divisional opponent.

I just looked myself to see how many times the Florida game actually stopped LSU from making the SECCG. It looks like it actually helped them in 2007.

But he just said they won't move because it's too hard. But he won't change the constants because it's a big rivalry. So which is it?

Would be better to drop the "East/West" names and just swap AU and UT. Have AU/UA be the permanent rivalry.

Surprisingly I don't completely hate this. If we could have UF as our permanent opponent. I wouldn't like losing UGA but contrary to popular belief on this board UT fans are willing to give up some things.

Keep in mind this will never happen

Then why aren't we touting this at the SEC conference meetings?
I'm not there, are you?

LSU is touting our stance.
And looking bad in the process.

Why don't y'all tout this divisional structure?
I have influence over a lot of things, but the SEC powers that be isn't one of them.

Look no further than Missouri to the East and this tells you all you need to know about Alabama and their "rivalry."

Yes it does. It wasn't an optimal solution, it wasn't even the best compromise. That's why it had to be changed and we got to play Ole Miss at home two years in a row. I wish I had the articles written contemporaneously about all this so we can stop pretending 92 was about anything other than Bama getting there way. Hell, Bama doesn't insist on playing UT twice in basketball or at all in baseball. Just want to make football schedules an unmitigated disaster.

You might have a different opinion as an Auburn fan, but I never thought Alabama had much ability to manipulate the choices of other SEC schools. Especially our rivals.

What don't you understand about every team in the West playing every other team? You indicated that's unfair because LSU is better than Ole Miss. I can't even make it up because it's that fricking hard to believe that you would believe that's unfair.

They need to get rid of divisions. Have four or five permanent games (everyone gets to keep their goddamn rivalries) and the other three to four games rotate. Top two teams get to title game.

TA, I would edit. Ice Cold has been trying to put hits on anyone who says that about the SECr.

Speak of the devil ... *whistles idly*

Clearly you missed the point. I am shocked.

So, could you explain your point that I questioned?
