I did a quick google search on LSU in 1981. It mentioned the hiring of a new AD (Bob Broadhead). His challenges were to stop letting in every moron of the street, raise the unacceptably high failing student rate, and try to make kids actually want to go to LSU to play sports.
Four years later he was bugging offices appearing before a grand jury. The basketball program was being investigated due to the sloppy and obvious paying of illegal benefits to recruits by a loud mouthed, brash coach (Dale Brown).
Fast forward 40 years . . . LSU seems to be stuck in a time warp. I don't see Woodward pleaing out to wiretapping charges though.
