He could be, because he believes in defense. The question is, did OU go from one extreme to the other?

OU has Lebby and Jackson Arnold coming in. It would be extremely unlikely that OUs offense won’t be elite.

I know who they brought in. It's not likely, but it doesn't mean he won't handcuff them.

What? What articles and polls show OU as the number one program in any time frame?

If he was, he isn't a very smart OU fan.

There have been cracks in OU fans and adminstration with LR over a two-year period. Some of OU's All American former players were letting out more frustating responses as the last season went.

LR's paronia lack of trust of anyone else, but his buddies, Grinch and Wylie, was getting old. Most anyone on this board could watch 15 minutes of his offense last year and tell he did not know what to do with two-high safeties.

OU has fans like every team, who don't know anything about what is going on internally or among the alumni/former players. Often younger generation who just like to talk big. I will tell you that former D players had been frustrated going back to LR's first days. Many former players on both sides of the ball were very frustrated, if you were to take the time and discuss it.

Could we see that something we could not define was off last year, yes. It just wasn't intelligent football.
Could we tell that LR getting rid of Schmitty and hiring Wylie was causing more poorly developed players every year, yes. Were we caught off guard, yes. Were we sad LR left no. (Just wished he had not lied about it, or even strung LSU along for that matter) Were we relieved when they brought in BV, yes.

Do I wish that some OU fans wouldn't come on here and act like texsa or aTm fans, talking about what we are going to do, yes. Just play the game. Win and it takes care of itself. Lose; well just don't give excuses. It happens

What about Freeman at ND? Why all the love and ranking ND high? And LSU? LSU isn't even ranked this year. What is going on here?

Hes right about one thing, the over on OU is easy money this year.

Baylor, Ok State and K State lost a ton and OU has the 6th best odds to win the title in Vegas.

They will be favored in every game so no way they lose 3. Its the big 12 for christs sake

It’s unclear if he will be an upgrade.

OU has 2 NC in the last 40+ years. They could win another soon, but it’s been over 20 years since the last so that seems unlikely.

Given how OU has been routinely embarrassed the past 20 years, I don’t think that means anything other than OU being overrated and playing a super weak schedule and the AP pollsters not having any idea what they are doing.

When LSU played OU in the playoff, the LSU coaching staff said that OU on film was about the 15th to 20th best team in the country and they would beat them by 60. The LSU staff was right. OU has no business being ranked in the top 15, much less in the playoff.

Lincoln Riley and his baby shite soft teams aren’t on that sideline anymore. You can just admit you’re scared to death of OU with Venables at the wheel

So you admit that OU has been baby shite soft for over 20 years? Including the years Venables ran the defense? Good. Glad we are on the same page.

So correct me if I have bad info, but didn’t Bob Stoops name Riley his successor or was it the AD or was it both?

As far as what’s the new guy going to do. No one knows. Maybe he’s Bob Stoops Jr or maybe he’s more like a Bo Pelini or Coach Boom type of head coach.
