if you're talking the same current contracts they have, I'd say O. Aggies can probably afford to bite the bullet in 5 to 7 years. We couldn't afford to fire Jimbo for 9 years. O is doing fine.

One things for sure LSU fans would be expecting Jimbo to compete for championships right away as opposed to a&m fans wanting a win against LSU

O no doubt. I still remember when Jimbo was here and how the fans would scream about his vanilla offense.

Hahahahahaha freaking LSU fans.................
They would take Jimbo in a damn heartbeat. Just want to bitch about a contract they could not afford. Aggies didn't make that size of a contract for Jimbo for shits and giggles, they paid him that much to build a program. Understand that it takes time to recruit players he wants and build his program around his needs. By the way Sumlin ruined Chavis. He put a offense on the field that gave Chavis defense little rest and really didn't let Chavis do what he wanted. Alumni were begging the hire ups to can Sumlin the last 2 years. Sounds familiar to what LSU has been doing the last 5 years......

They thank LSU for beating them in order to get a better coach. Win win situation.

Coaching in the ACC isn’t in the same solar system as coaching in the SEC,. Give both time and let it play out. O sure isn’t doing a bad job at recruiting.

Jimbo is the better coach but he is not worth it with that contract. He is no Saban and often loses more often than not when facing a team with equal talent. Jimbos best days are behind him when playing in a weaker conference with more talent that the others. That will never be the case in the sec west.

O has done a great job with lsu roster. We will see this year and next year if he can translate that to wins.

As long as LSU keeps making poor coaching decisions based on the A&M game, the answer is "yes."
