I would want a mix of the two. A coach with a Championship pedigree and who can bite the head off a boa constrictor.

This is a dumb thread. There were about a million threads on the SEC and Tiger Rant about hiring Jimbo Fisher in 2015 and 2016.
Yet there seemed to be considerablely less threads started by excited LSU Fans to hire O.

Jimbo is a better coach, but LSU didn't offer anywhere near the 10 year 75,000,000.00 guaranteed contract he got from those desperate losers from Junior College Station.
He doesn't have what it takes to make them elite. He was a very good coach with the best talent from the state of Florida. He won't have the same level of talent in a tougher conference.
We told them the same thing when they hired the Chief.
He was a very good (at times great) DC at UT and LSU.
But he was horrible at aTm, and LSU fans were adamant about that when they hired him. Jimbo will not do as well at aTm as he did at FSU.
Can you imagine how much everyone is gonna point and laugh at that contract after every aggy loss?

Jimbo definitely but I don’t think Jimbo is an elite coach. Better than O though.

I think ppl are being too hard on o at the moment. Yeah he lost to troy but he came back and beat auburn. 9-3 his first full year as hc is not bad. The next few years we will see if he still sucks like he did at ole miss. If Muschamp can turn it around why not O?
