I think UGA will host.
They won the toughest league.
The 16 team league with 10 series kind of made schedules a bit uneven.
I think AU will host. We’ve had a great schedule.
Unlike basketball, we won a bunch of “quad 1 games.”
Baseball has a great championship format.
Probably the only true championship in college sports.
Football and basketball are fun to watch, but one bad game and you are done.
In baseball, each round a team has to lose twice to be eliminated.
Respect.

The irony this thread will hold if UGA wins the series this weekend will be bump worthy.

Who said UGA can’t win this weekend?

Nobody said they couldn’t, but this thread implies that having an easier conference schedule determines the strength of a team.

No it doesn’t. You’re arguing with a strawman.
UGA could kick the ever loving shite out of us in Plainsman this weekend and no one would be shocked that UGA is really, really good. It’s just that it’s still a bit of an unknown given who they’ve played.

I guarantee you the SEC Champions don’t care who thinks they’re good or very good. Why do you?

Well it’s a sports forum and we’re talking about sports. Comparisons are inevitable.
I’m not convinced you’re as good as us quite yet. You got the bottom three teams in the SEC, all at home. We got only one of those teams, and on the road.
Thankfully we have a series that could answer some questions in that regard, but even then I wouldn’t be fully convinced that we’re actually better than UGA if we pull it out because it’s in Auburn.
UGA is elite, UGA’s schedule has made a bit of a mystery of how elite they truly are. All we’re saying.

No it doesn’t. It means you got the easiest conference schedule in the SEC on top of playing the weakest NC SOS of any team in the league. Those are just facts.

Those facts are great to hear, but being SEC Champs is also a fact that is indisputable regardless of SOS. If Auburn didn’t get swept by in-state rival Alabama, perhaps UGA wouldn’t have won the title.

Yeah that definitely sucked. Thankfully it flipped the switch a bit and we haven’t lost a series since.

I remember back in 2022, Arkansas was 16-8 and was going to go wrap up a national seed but lost the last two remaining series to Alabama and Vandy.
Finished 18-12.
Not only did they not get a national seed but got screwed out of hosting a regional.
They ended up third in the CWS.

A 16 team league with 10 series matchups can lead to uneven strength of schedules.
I think that is all the OP was pointing out.
In the 10 team league, you probably play everyone one series and one rival home and home. I guess it could be a little tilted, but it’s less unwieldy.
16 teams for most sports is challenging.
We are almost enough teams for 2 leagues, especially in football, basketball, and baseball.

LSU is obviously ranked to high.

Baseball is such a hard game to gauge. A team can get beat 15-0 in one game, then come back and win 12-3 and 10-4 the next two games. It's a sport that rewards streakiness. So much so, that a team could get swept one weekend, then sweep the other team the next weekend.
It seems to be more that way in the college game, as the team that gets hot going into the postseason can win it all.

I'm just adding this chart so people can see where your team standing in multiple rankings.
Their isn't going to be much change in the seeding. Only bottom 3 seeds are really in flux. Georgia and USC are both in a weird spot. USC is being carried by RPI and Georgia is getting screwed by it.
