Good weather if you ask me, been snowing in Lexington and they do not have the number of cold weather yankees they do in Columbia.

You realize that Auburn literally won a championship this year, right? I actually just got the t-shirt today.
Did you miss it? Let me remind you

You did win it. You limped down the stretch and blew the chance of being outright. Then your rival kicked your arse in the SEC tourney. And finally you got absolutely demolished in round 2 after sneaking past a weak opponent round 1. It’s the first time in almost a decade the SEC champ didn’t advance to at least the Sweet 16.

They could do more to promote it in Columbia but yeah...people are not traveling to watch college baseball from St Louis and K.C..
Missouri has as more MLB franchises than the following SEC states combined:
South Carolina
Alabama
Tennessee
Mississippi
Arkansas
Louisiana
Georgia
That's a tough nut to crack for Mizzou baseball sadly. I like the college game. It's grown on me thanks to the SEC. I just don't ever see Mizzou drawing attendance numbers like the rest of the SEC when it has to compete with the MLB teams an the AA team in Sprimgfield.

Yeah y'all had much better timing with y'alls injuries/ suspensions and collapse. Its not our fault that A&M spent the entire month of January in dumpster fire mode and failed to live up to your potential or maybe y'all could have won the SEC instead of us.
Thank God Robert Williams will be gone next year and we return everybody, plus get back Austin Wiley who's basically like a more polished Robert Williams.
We overachieved big time winning the SEC, and I'm ecstatic with this season despite the way it ended. I'm also ecstatic with the the state of the program, maybe that's why you seem so angry that you know y'alls chance is ending this year with Robert Williams career, while Auburn will be one of the favorites to win the SEC again and have a great future.

Weather plays a part, just as it does early season here, but...
I don't buy that as a good reason. There's a AA team with a stadium 15 minutes from Baum Stadium. The two seasons barely overlap at all. They're two different things.

They are not two different things.
MLB dominates the state of Missouri. People just don't focus on college baseball. More St Louisans travel in a week to Florida during spring training to watch the Cardinals than go to Columbia to watch Mizzou baseball all season. It is what it is but it's true.
Put a major league team in Little rock or Memhpis and see what happens....

LSU has led the nation in attendance for 25 years in a row (and generally by several thousand fans a game). State has not always had a bad product and has always had a larger capacity
Before LSU built the New Box, LSU led for a long time but it was closer. When LSU built the new Box (and I guess expanded it a short time later), their number of season tickets went way up. Since then, no one has been close since in average attendance.
State had 1,873 per game fewer fans than LSU last season (10,733 vs 8,860). When State finishes the new stadium before 2019, our number of season tickets will go way up (the entire grandstand and all of luxury seats are sold out, plus the additional season tickets for the new larger outfield lounge). Not likely approaching LSU's season ticket numbers, but the few games we load up with >12k fans might help State match LSU's average fan numbers in 2019.
To do that, of course, State will have to have a much better season in 2019 than 2018's 0-30 in the SEC.

People aren't driving from Little Rock or Eastern Arkansas (at least not regularly) to fill up Baum.
Our students and local community support the team. It's a fun atmosphere in a nice stadium. Weather is an issue I understand for Mizzou. Total lack of interest is a cultural thing I guess.

Ole Miss and Arkansas would still have good support

St Louis Cardinals were established in 1892.
The point is that college baseball has thrived in the MLB vacuum.
That's great. I enjoy college ball but it is hard to argue otherwise.

mizzou fans are idiots. they have an exciting team that has some talent.

You know Memphis is only a couple hours further from St Louis than Columbia is right? You also know that Memphis is home to the Cardinals AAA team right? There are plenty of huge MLB fans in the area. They just also happen to enjoy college baseball. It's not a mutually exclusive concept. The college baseball season is over 4 months before the MLB playoffs start. I promise you can follow both

There is one MLB team between:
Georgia
South Carolina
Tennessee
Mississippi
Louisiana
Alabama
Come on man...

Again, Memphis is very close to St Louis. Nashville is a few hours from Cincinnati. Houston is a few hours from Louisiana. South Carolina is a couple hours from Atlanta. So is Birmingham. I don't know where this notion that the team being in the same state is a prerequisite to being a part of the fan base. I doubt people from Columbia, Missouri are driving 2.5 hours to see the Cardinals play any more than people from 2.5 hours outside Atlanta travel to see the Braves. It's a lame excuse dude.

Yeah, that's a stupid argument
