This thread just keeps hard forking into shittier topics of discussion.

You have the typical “cawledge baisball sucks! And I feel the need to let everyone know about my feelings in every college baseball thread started here, instead of just moving onto the other 23 threads on page 1.” Aka: simple minds who just want to spew vitriol and tell people what they should and shouldn’t enjoy.

And now we have the Louisiana vs ULL debate where some people are offended by what a Sun Belt school is calling themselves.

I think those people call it UofL just piss the LSU folks off.

Everybody does. Even ULL itself.

You realize that Auburn literally won a championship this year, right? I actually just got the t-shirt today. Did you miss it? Let me remind you

Wait, so you are saying that your very good baseball team has poor attendance because your basketball team was co-champions in the regular season in early March?

You averaged 8,178 tickets sold per home SEC game. I guess that your fan base was holding out on football championships there too.

You're shocked that a niche sport in a dumpy stadium doesn't pull more support?

And they get so mad about it on the MSB. They just HAVE to take the bait, every single time.

Meh. It's not shocking as that's the way it's always been at UF for baseball. Our stadium is old and for day games it's down right miserable.

The new stadium should provided a much needed spark with modern amenities and pray to baby Jesus, some shade.

LSU is right to be proud of their baseball following. It's awesome. I hope we can get halfway there with the new stadium.

Why pay attention to it at all?

That is a good point. But it is kind of like when your little brother just won't be quiet in the library and it is your responsibility to explain to him why he needs to hush. To be honest Tulane should be more upset at ULL calling themselves "University of Louisiana" since it is legally theirs.

Are people more likely to step in a pile of shite if a bear takes a crap on a well-used path, or if it does so off in the woods where the bear is neither seen nor heard?

They do because it pisses people off and I personally think it's kind of funny. But the reason a lot of LSU fans get mad is because the regional schools, per the bylaws, are not allowed to just use "University of Louisiana" without the city designate behind it...like University of Louisiana at Lafayette. If people didn't get so worked up over it, they'd probably stop doing it...but there you go.

Thanks for the reply. The pictures I saw at the time of your renovation looked very nice, but didn't know that they reduced the number of available seats. How many seats do you think you could sell if they could add as many as you wanted? Just curious.

For big games, we could pack in 10k (did that if you count folks outside the fence a few times back in the '90s), but having too many seats would actually hurt average attendance because it would be a drag on season ticket sales (MSU is sort of an example of this). If you have individual tickets available for the big games, that will keep a lot of folks from buying season tickets. Right now, reserved seats to big games can only be had on the secondary market.

I wish we had about 6,000 seats and room for another 2000 or so on berms. The planned renovations will probably leave us with about 5500 seats and room for 2000 or so on the berms.

Baseball isn't a sport unless you're good at it and vice versa. State might not even win a series but DNF will still be pack on most nights.
