Good point. Haven't seen a good argument for why Barron is better. Reid seems to be the better player.

Give me Eric Reid. He's badass and only a sophomore.

I'm saying Barron is getting by based on reputation rather than play this year. Tell me he has won a bunch of all americans doesn't mean much when he has the exact same production as Reid who wasn't an all america. Also Reid missed a game.

I think it also has to be said that you can't go wrong with either player. I'd just take the guy with 1, maybe 2, years left in college.

Barron's stats are down because Bama's LBs are 3 of top 4 tacklers (Barron 2d -66) while LSU's DBs are 4 of top 5 tacklers and Reid is third with 65.

Both future NFL players, both great college players, somebody had to be first team and Mark has started longer hasn't he...plus he came back when didn't have too. Mark is a little more banged up right now so wtf is very little between them

Bama's d has always been linebacker centered. I am saying he is playing down this year, and isn't making the plays he used to. 7 pick to 3 to 2. the guy i living off of his reputation instead of play. Both our safeties have better numbers than him.

I hate threads like these that have to devolve into an indictment of a great player.

You're throwing around SEC best safeties EVER, and I'm just pointing out that you should probably not get carried away.

It's not like we haven't recently had SEC safeties taken in the first six picks overall in the draft in the past decade.

Do you think Barron's going in the first half of the first round? He played a better part of last year with a torn pec, and still got voted All-American. I don't consider his play this year to warrant All-American status, he hasn't had the opportunities. It's a name game.

Give you a perfect example. Glenn Dorsey didn't have near the year his senior year that he had the year before. Strained MCL kept him out a couple of weeks, and he was double-teamed a lot. Yet, he took home every statue they make outside of the Heisman.

No, he was playing through it way before then.

I'm positive.

Barron led the SEC in INT's when he was a sophomore.
