Why is Dan Quinn on the list?

It's very misleading to put him under Nick Saban's coaching tree. He was a coach 10 years before being with Nick Saban for 1 season in Miami.

Agree it's silly to claim Quinn, but whenever Quinn discusses his influences with the media it is always Saban and Carroll. And he mentions them equally.

Terry Bowden could claim Jimbo as well.

He coached under Saban with the Dolphins, and then coached under Muschamp, who coached under Saban.

I'll allow it.

How the frick are Jason Garrett, Dan Quinn, and Mike Mularkey "Saban disciples?" None of those NFL guys got their current gigs because of Saban… he quit on THEM, remember?

For 1 season, after he was already a coach 10 + years. He was with the San Fran 49ers, Hofstra, VMI and William and Mary before coaching under Nick Saban.

That's not how this works.

By this logic, Tommy Tuberville and Mack Brown could claim Will Muschamp.

What's stopping them? Is there some rule that says a guy can only be a part of one person's "tree?"

Jason Garrett regularly calls Saban his mentor. He thinks of himself as a Saban disciple, so...
