Oh look, an LSU fan believing rumors and gossip instead of presenting evidence.

You must be really popular on the Poliboard.

Kinda. Basically, each player has to be assigned to a class - either a previous class, current class, or a future class. That allows a lot of wiggle room. We may even still be playing catch up in some capacity on back counting for the under-signed 2018 class - back counting players in each of the subsequent classes. Plus grayshirts, etc.

This is the kind of thing a program can do when they hire coaches that can do math.

In their defense, I dont think it's the math that's the issue... it's the reading comprehension.

But lets not act like they probably werent given some academic financial aid or some shite.

If this were accurate, then they'd still count toward the 85 any way. Will does. Paul doesn't. prolly should just take your L (should be used to it by now) and move on.

This is flat out wrong, but ok....

And Saban being all about the player is the biggest joke. Saban is about Saban and his legacy, that’s all he cares about.

It's not wrong. Teams are literally given extra spots for things like transfers and such. Not to mention being able to back count to previous years.

Your Saban rant is just ignorant.

That is true for any that were recruited. If any "recruited" player attempts to walk on at football and is under any other equivalency athletic or university provided academic/merit scholarship or aid, they are counters toward football 85 limit.

That said, the definition of "recruited" leaves a lot of gray space to still legally talk to and evaluate a player without them becoming "a recruited" player should they walk on.

Also, the roster management aspect of when to bring guys on and off scholarships to roll #s forward or back is a strategy in itself. Some here obviously understand the intricacies of it much better than I (which isn't hard), but Saban has mastered it.

The first early signing period caught him with his pants down just a bit, but the machine has moved back into high gear.

So is this statement a math issue or a reading comprehension issue?

Saban is about Saban and his legacy, that’s all he cares about.

that is why his recruiting reputation is in the gutter and all of his former players and coaches speak out so poorly about him.

Outside of a few players who felt they got a raw deal in his first couple of seasons, that oversigning and forced medical BS has died off as the nonsense it was.

If that were a common practice over 14 full recruiting cycles, it would have been unsustainable toward continued success, especially in the height of the social media era.

Families wouldn't let him in their living rooms or HS coaches on campus

Just get over the fact that the man coaches his arse off on the field, holds high expectations for all parts of the program, even if he micromanages the shite out of it to keep it in his vision, but he also cares deeply for the personal/professional growth of his players and staff.

He is like that stereotypical a-hole old school southern father. The one who is hard on his kids, but it is from a place of love. He never misses in telling them when they frick up, and only jokes around and gives compliments sparingly. Some may not like it, but at the end of the day, they will be raised pretty well (outliers always exist).

Ok, math still doesn't add up. If you're signing 27 in this class, that would have required you to only sign 23 last year.

Are you sure?

I mean considering LSU fans came into a thread involving Tennessee and Alabama and melted all over whining about recruiting numbers makes you the Karen. It’s the very definition. Getting involved in something that doesn’t effect you and whining about it.

What does this have to do with being offered a scholarship and then being asked to pay your own way?

Reichard was told to greyshirt after thinking he was getting a scholarship. So ya, he has one now.

Did you even know how to spell alabama before Saban got there? Got to love these bandwagon fans.

why can't people understand that there are ways to reduce your initial counters for a year? Bama is good at this
