Bama’s destruction of UT: The Final Chapter - UA leads for top UT LB Henry To’oto’o

Some pretty transparent quotes from his dad, condensed from BOL.
He wants the SECRant to know that Coach Saban is a man of his word.
He wants the SECRant to know that Coach Saban is a man of his word.
quote:
“Pete Golding and Coach (Nick) Saban, they’ve been reaching out... While I can’t speak for Henry, I know after all our discussions he wants to stay in the SEC. And I think he’s leaning towards Alabama. I mean heavily leaning towards Alabama.
“All the other SEC schools reached out to him, too. But one thing that we talked about was that we chose Tennessee the first time when we should have came to Alabama, so let’s not make this mistake twice.”
quote:
“I got a lot more respect for Coach Saban now... Coach Saban is a man of his word. He’s truly about the player. And the reason why I say that is he advised Henry to wait until April comes around, because the NCAA one-time transfer rule hasn’t passed. It was supposed to pass in January, the day after the national title. And it didn’t. They set it back on the table until April. And Coach Saban told us to wait until April and if this thing passes he was like there’s one more hurdle, which is the SEC needs to pass in-conference transfers also. For him to do that, I’ve got a newfound level of respect for the man. He’s one of those guys that’s truly for his players. I told Henry why not play for a man that’s looking out for your best interests.”
quote:
Like I said, Coach Saban is a man of his word and is truly, truly about the player. And I appreciate that. It will depend on the advice and counsel he gets from Coach Saban.
quote:
“There’s a rumor going around that Henry is coming back to the West Coast. That’s a nay. That’s not going to happen.

Saban is about the player for suggesting Henry hold off on a decision that would benefit Saban. Coach has pops in a trance.

So Saban is guaranteeing his signing bonus.
Bama going to sign 29-30 players this year?

Supposedly we have room for him and JTT (#1 overall recruit).

No you don't. Alabama has 27 commits. You've got to drop 2 to meet the hard cap.

Wonder if UT will get the cash back that Kevin Simon and Pruitt paid him on their trip to the West Coast two days before Pruitt was axed a qwesh.

Of course we do, we don’t have some idiot that can’t even sign OLinemen managing our roster.

There’s no such thing as a hard cap. Lots of things influence that number, including how many you brought in from the previous class, grayshirts, etc.

Idk, but us sending Jermy Proot to Knoxville to create a farm league for UA is one of the best moves Saban’s ever made, IMO.

It’s possible, I should say. I’m just the messenger. Something to do with:
quote:
Bama might sometimes have more annual 25-limit spots available than we know about. I got pretty reliable confirmation that Paul Tyson, Will Reichard and Michael Parker enrolled initially as walk-ons to become eligible for voluntary withdrawal replacement schollies that don't count toward annual 25 signings and initial counters limits, only the 85 limit -- via the following exception rule:
(Perhaps there have been more.)
15.5.6.4 Exceptions.
15.5.6.4.1 Voluntary Withdrawal. [FBS/FCS] An institution may replace a counter who voluntarily withdraws from the football team by providing the financial aid to another student who already has enrolled in the institution and is a member of the football squad. For this replacement to occur, the counter must withdraw prior to the first day of classes or before the first game of the season, whichever is earlier, and provide the institution with a signed statement releasing the institution from its obligation to provide institutional financial aid and verifying the voluntary nature of the withdrawal. The institution may immediately (beginning with the fall term) award the financial aid to a student-athlete who has been a member of the team for at least one academic year and has not previously received athletically related financial aid. A student-athlete who has not been a member of the team for at least one academic year may not receive the financial aid during the fall term, but may receive it in a following term (e.g., spring semester, winter quarter). (Revised: 4/28/05 effective 8/1/05)

Lol it’s a pretty shitty farm league. To’o To’o may have been the best defender on that shitty defense and he is probably a one down linebacker for Bama in today’s game.

And Alabama brought in 27 in the previous class.
You have no wiggle room. Alabama is offering scholarships to these players, and they'll pull the scholarship once the player is on campus.

Well that is definitely not happening.

I feel fine, loosa.
The real question is how does that make you feel?

That’s not how it works.
An interesting note: Ed Orgeron criticized the new 25 scholarship limit rules and called it “very unfair” back in 2018.
We agree. We just know how to math.

Ok, math still doesn't add up. If you're signing 27 in this class, that would have required you to only sign 23 last year.
