He took an already developed line at UK and didn't train up the younger players. Our success under John Schlarman was based on running in the younger players from time to time to gain experience against good competition. Wolford didn't do that and our line took most of this season to get to mediocre.
If he did the same thing at Bama a bunch of your younger guys may hit the portal...oh wait, they did.
Yes, Wolford was a bad coach for us in developing young talent. If you give him a stacked deck he will play it well.

These aren't really "young" players. They are mostly 3rd-4th year guys. Between the COVID year and an absolute disaster year of Doug Marrone, we had 2 classes of kids who basically whiffed on 2 development years. Really hard to have that at that position.
Class of 2019
Amari Kight
Tanner Bowles
Class of 2020
Javion Cohen
Damieon George
Class of 2021
Tommy Brockermeyer
Everyone is pretty excited about our young guys from last years class. Booker became a starter mid-way through the year and was excellent, Pritchett got rave reviews before getting hurt. And everyone but Tommy Brockermeyer is still here from the 2021 class (Latham, Ferguson, J. Brockermeyer, Roberts) And we signed a full class of OL this year (5 guys).
We'll be thin for the bowl game but I'd guess we feel pretty good about the depth of the OL next year. Wouldn't shock me if we tried to grab a guard in the portal - maybe even a center to compete with McLaughlin.

We are trying to recover from the Doug Marrone era
This is true.
The recruiting class coming in has some much bigger bodies than this current group.
Eric Wolford has said he was surprised at how small this 2022 line looked, and wanted to return to the motor grader style of past classes.

I honestly don't pay attention to rotations etc with the line, so I can't really say what he did in that regard. I generally live along the lines of - if you don't hear their names, they probably did pretty well.
But I can say our line was greatly improved this year and I have felt that things have been overall positive. I am surprised to hear Kentucky fans weren't happy with him.

Our 2 weakest position groups were OL and WR, and most of our portal transfers were from these 2 groups. I'm fine with these guys leaving and letting our new O line coach get who he thinks can actually play dominating SEC football. Mean while, our incoming class is, again, number one. We're good.

Rode the bench for two years, a massive 5 star bust.
Probably going to Texas.

Probably doesn't bother you at all.
What bothers me is that the Alabama fan base has completely lost touch with reality and can't even during a season where they're not part of the playoffs.
