i hope our O-line was being messed with ALL during Kent state.... otherwise, our running game will be lackluster against a team that's gonna be hell bent on winning.

if we play no mistake football and can run decently at all.... i think we're good. if not, we're screwed.

Well, it was hot as hell for last year's game and we ran hurry up to tire them out at the beginning of the game.

Their defense will have a little more fight in them this year, I think.

it just goes to show you we are more objective than given credit for. we do know our damn football.

last year, i still believe we were the most talented team. but we really, really did have a 'lack of leadership' since that's the safe way to sum it up.

this year, we should have been dominant over kent state's shitty D-line, and we simply weren't.

If they protect the ball, Bama by 3 scores. If they turn it over a few times, Bama by 10.

You guys aren't remotely worried about the 4 picks vs. Kent St. and it carrying over?

I mean, Penn St. isn't exactly Kent St.

Valid point, but I'm mostly referring to the week leading up to the game.

Penn State was starting a true freshman QB at Bryant-Denny and the vast majority of Bama posters on here thought that Penn State would give Bama fits.

It was pretty absurd.

No excuses, but Nix was beastly last year as a true freshman. You match him against an interior player and they'll get worked.

If he was taller(he's not even 6 foot), he might be playing at tOSU right now...

Bama may still have questions at QB but those concerns are nothing compared to the concerns Penn St. have about facing Bama's defense. Bama by 10 to 14 points

I expect AJ to tote the load against Penn State, and one of his two picks was off a deflection...so I don't see it being a major issue. I've been saying all along that we will see a marked increase in the number of picks this year, after getting used to Gmac's ball security.

Even with no passing game and Penn St. stacking the box?

2 came from what I now consider the backup and another came from a pass off the TE's hands.

That really only leaves 1 INT, which wasn't amazingly bad either...

No, this was a unique situation for the Penn State game only.

It was not objective at all. It was almost like y'all wanted to give Penn State alot more credit than they deserved just so it would remind the old timers of the good ole' days.

The matchup was incredibly lopsided and will be again this year.

You also have to understand that Bama fans have an immense amount of respect for Penn State and Joe Paterno, no matter what, due to our past history of legendary games with them. There's an aversion to understimating them or slighting them, I suppose. Even the Bama fans who weren't alive in the seventies know Bama fans are supposed to have a lot of respect for Penn State and Joe Paterno.

when Sims is in, I'm worried. not with AJ. his was tipped up. AJ is sharp as a tack so far.

I understand that, it's just really bizarre to see y'all pump up Penn State during game week.

If I just listened to Alabama fans on how good Penn State's team is, I would think y'all were playing the '85 Bears.
