I sure as heck didn't view them in a more positive light.

After last night's game, LSU, Bama, Oregon, USC, and maybe even Arkansas should be ranked ahead of OSU in the final AP poll. OSU is not a championship caliber team, period. They won but did nothing to make their case for being the best. They squeaked by the 3rd best team in the PAC 12 with a one-dimensional strategy.

Splitting a nc with bama would mean them jumping lsu. Lsu would have 1 loss to #2 bama. Osu would have 1 loss to Iowa state. Isn't this the logic that kept them out of the bcs nc game in the first place?

Alabama beats LSU by 10+ in NOLA. Thus, nixing the scenario you posted.

Spin it any way you want, but the facts remain that if Alabama beats LSU Jan. 9th:

-LSU 13-1
-Alabama 12-1
-Teams split two meetings (neither in Baton Rouge)
-LSU: Tougher schedule
-LSU: SEC champions
-Alabama: BCS champions

Don't get me wrong, I want the crystal ball, and I want LSU to win "it ALL" Jan.9th. But the facts above will forever be facts if indeed Alabama wins.

If Bama wins, the OSU win basically guaranteed that LSU will win the AP title.

No one. Including me.

That said, I'd be lying if I didn't admit it would be a nice consolation prize if Alabama does indeed win if LSU gets to put AP title in its record books. It would really suck if LSU lost, but at least we'd have something to show for it once the pain wears off.

No way it would happen. If Bama wins, they should be the overall winner...no sharing. A loss to an undefeated LSU has more ground than a loss to a 6-7 Iowa State team. Sorry Oklahoma State.

If LSU wins....then Oklahoma State needs to shut it. They definitely aren't sharing jack then.

Yeah.. but OSU would be more deserving. They won their conference and their bowl game. Lsu wouldn't have.

Good catch! Next time I'll put it in "quotes" for you.

I apologize for being harsh, but it's a word that many on here have been misspelling and misusing lately. It's not a homonym or homophone. Mute and Moot do not sound or look the same. So, I just don't see the reason for the confusion.

There are a lot of Oklahoma State fans out there that feel they deserve a split regardless.

I see your point, I just think we'll play well enough in Round 2 to eliminate any doubt as to who the champ is.

And I'm typically a more-pessimistic Gump, fyi.

And they're wrong.

The championship comes down to LSU & Alabama. Period.

moot is from moot court. a moot point is a point considered by students of law . moot therefore has come to describe whether something is debatable.

mute = silenced, a person who cannot speak.
moot = logic and debate. mute = no noise.

No prob. I was just being silly (per another poster SIAP), anyway. I remember the spelling from my pre-med, err, pre-law days.
