This is what happens when you have a bunch of half wit egghead administrators posing as expert football analysts on your "committee."
The committee needs to be former coaches only. No ADs, journalists, Presidents, or women. Honestly, if you want the best 12, ask Vegas.

These committees are nothing but a bunch of give everybody a trophy guys,Liberals. They don’t care about the best teams they would rather have North Texas get their arse handed to them in the 1st round than a good game with 2 better teams.

They still play Florida St next year.
Looking at FSU's last two season, I wouldn't want Texas to cancel them either.

Auburn has an upcoming home and home with Notre Dame and then a home and home with Miami. We don't have to sit anything out.
That doesn't matter if you're not in the playoff hunt...

100% agree, adding College presidents and ADs is absolutely stupid.
They are significantly biased, dont have the time to watch all the games, and likely dont have the football knowledge.
Who even assigns these morons?

And next year the committee will change their criteria to put a lot more emphasis on SOS. If humans are involved, and zero set in stone rules, expect things to constantly change.

Smart move and thanks playoff committee for allowing teams to skate by with terrible SOS and rewarding with a playoff spot.
You didn't complain about this last year.

Texas SOS was 6th last year so yeah I was not complaining. I think you listened to too many "Texas has an easy SEC schedule" without actually looking at data.
Texas in 2024 #5 SOR, #2 FPR, and #6 Strength of Schedule.

Your soft arse coach is spouting this too much

If the committee wants to blindly sort by number of losses, bring on Southwest Missouri St.

The dumfuk committee did this, not Bama. They told everyone that SoS was an important metric, then someone looked at NDs schedule and went "oh shite".

Was this before or after playoff games were played.
Even as a Texas fan this doesn’t sound right after our regular season but possibly after our playoff run.

Good point, I am not sure. It may be factoring in Clemson and ASU, I am not sure. Its on ESPNs site. Very hard to find data from last year.

The problem is the committee changes their rules every year. So no one really knows what they are going to do. They need a set of rules and stick to them. And absolutely they shouldn't have ADs and Presidents. Too much bias. It can be chaos if Duke , BYU, and Georgia wins. What will they do if Bama loses at the last second by a field goal? Or BYU wins by field goal at the last minute? Does anyone really think a second Group 5 team deserves to be in before a 2 loss SEC school? As far as schedules does it even help the SEC or BIG to schedule head to head games if a loss can hurt you making the playoffs? Ohio State has Texas in 2026 and Bama in 27 & 28 and Georgia in 30 &31. Does it help any of these teams to play each other before the playoffs? Yes it makes for a great game but at what cost to the loser? It's a mess just like the NCAA is!

Or, and this is gonna sound crazy…. You could just win your OOC games.
