The Commissioner's office is waiting for Nick to give them an appointment to enter his chamber.

I actually agree with the topic title.

The best development in UA Athletics crisis management for this fiasco likely came from UA legal counsel: Nate Oats makes no statements on the matter and just redirects to prior comments from Greg Byrne.

UA Athletics is sort of its own entity within the university. Subordinate to the President, yes, but they basically house their own IT shop, their own comms shop, etc.

I think UA strategic communications would have likely handled this much better than UA Athletics communications. Strat comm gets more training on handling situations like this involving students...especially when it happens on or near UA property. UA Athletics just doesn't seem equipped to handle this situation very well.

Also a lot to be said that Oats hasn't been doing this for very long. I don't think he really appreciated how the media will pounce on a story if they smell blood. He's probably going to go with what Saban has done after he finally got tired of putting his foot in his mouth with the media: just have a PR brief for awareness of things before engaging with the media.

It's hard to take anyone who thinks this is a big deal seriously.

We don’t care what you think should be done. Sorry.

The fact that you responded in this and every other thread on this board about it shows that yes, you indeed do care.

We’re melting over twitter banners now? Bama is going to win the SEC outright on Wednesday night, but he will probably wear the wrong socks or something.

The MMA pat down introduction has been happening all season, for anyone still wondering

Nobody is wondering. You guys have fed everyone the same lines of garbage at every turn. Yes, we know it’s happened before every game. 95% of college basketball fans don’t know that though, so it’s a pointless excuse and a terrible look.

Too bad, because he took it down after a Fox News called his arse out on it. Bama’s Athletic Department is run by clowns.
