Should have been ejected from the game.

It didn't look like a shove to me, the ref put his hand on McClain and he swatted it off. Then the ref tried to chest bump him...

Searched around and couldn't find anything, will Rolando McClain be disciplined for pushing a referee in the game vs. VT? Bama fans heard anything on this?
I imagine just a stern talking to.
That might be his first unsportsmanlike penalty he has ever had, first i remember. Point is that it isnt a recurring problem, and probably wont happen again.
And anyway, the shove wasnt all that blatant, if he put force into it that ref wouldve been on the ground.

This is correct. It wasn't a big deal.

anyone have a video clip of this?

You can watch the game here LINK. You have to sign up, but it's free. Then just navigate to Bama's Videos. That's how I saw it. Happens around the 1:07:00 mark. They show the replay after the extra point.

either way you cant touch a fricking ref. jesus christ gumps are fricking retarded with the homerism. If a aubie player did this it wouldnt be oh he barely touched him.
McClain should have been tossed. who knows how the game goes if he is gone. Everyone that plays sports knows you cant put your hands on the ref in anger. Bama fans seem to not understand things like you cant touch a ref like that no matter how light the push was.

McClain may not have been ejected because the ref was aware of what happened between McClain and the Va Tech guy before McClain shoved the ref.
He still should have kept his cool. He should probably get a 1-game suspension by the league. Probably will in light of what Oregon did with Blount just from a PR standpoint.

Did you see the ref eyeballing McClain and walking toward him just asking him to do or say something to get ejected..
Refs did the right thing, no need for ejection.. close though..

i heard on the radio this morning that mcclain went over there and apologized afterwards?

the SEC should come down hard and fast to stop this kind of crap. i'd say a 5 game suspension and 2 yr probation sounds right. the referees have a right to feel safe at their job.

are you kiddng? I saw it a couple of times and we are talking about a 6'4" 260 muscle mound beast goind agains zebras almost half his size. McClain was a very irate young man when he did the shoving. This was worse if not just as bad as Blount from the Ducks who hit another player, closer to his size and age. I think, McClain deserves to be suspended for the season for his actions, or this kind of activity will be allowed in the near future. Then we are going to have an official, coach or another player suffer a serious injury. When this does happen and comes to past, please come back and let me know what you think then?

of course you do. But the officials who ran the game didn't think he should have been ejected, and what they do/say is what matters.

What if it's done by an Lsu player?

Tha frick? Yeah, he shouldn't have put his hands on the guy but its obvious it wasn't a real push. McClain could have made that ref hit the deck easily with one hand.
If he would have been ejected, a few game suspension would have been ok by me, but the ref didn't toss him.

The McClain thing is just plain stupidity on his part! Reminded me of LSU def. player kicking that friggin ball last yer. (who was that? I forget.)
These kinds of things shouldn't happen. These friggin guys need to be controlled. It doesn't belong on the field.
Signs of a coach not in complete control (aka Miles last year and Saban in game 1 this year.)

15 yards extra plus half of his arse is gone and is digesting in Saban's stomach.
Actually I was surprised how timid Saban was in approaching him on the sideline. Didn't yell at all. Looked a little scared to me. Whatever set him off had him looking for blood.
