Melt brother. Whatever gets you through the night.
BUT LSU made the Bear quit in ‘82 and last night we made Saban quit. He’s not coming. He’s done.
Enjoy another Bill Curry as your new head coach

Bama is the best program in history, but are currently, by SEC processes for determining such things objectively, the 3rd best team in the SECW

There’s a process. They are third.

Odds are Bama does drop after Saban leaves or in his last year(s) but saying Bama goes back to the Dubose/Shula days is a stretch, dont you think?

Things often don’t end great when you get to the sunset years of a legendary coach. Saban seems different and willing to adapt with the times but that trend is very hard to overcome.
No powerhouse program is immune from mediocrity that can last years. We have several examples nowadays.

As someone who became a fan during the Dubose era, being 4&8 of the west was better than the pain endured during Dubose’s time.
But again the talent level that Bama has and many around still having fresh memories of those dark days leads me to believe that they won’t drop that far down.
Post Saban will rely on what Bama will be recruiting leading up to his departure, who they hire, and what the college football landscape is like, especially in SEC.

Gumps don't know how to lose well. Life is a game of being able to lose well, learn and move on. You'd think they'd know how to lose well as well as Saban manages losses and quickly recovers.

Haven’t won a real ring in five years.

That will start getting erased by Georgia and LSU. Bama you are the wicked witch in the SEC west and your glory will soon be put to rest as the sun sets in the western sky.

If UGA were to win the national title this year, UGA would be in the lead for team of the decade.

Teams aren’t intimidated by Bama anymore. Saban is tired of the players in todays game and is not so far ahead of everyone else without an elite OC.

Tennessee fans have to be the worst on the SEC. The team you beat in Baton Rouge is not the same team now by any stretch. I’d love another crack at the ugly arse orange team from Knoxville.

The king is becoming feeble and aged. He still commands respect, but only at official functions these days. Not so much on the field of battle as once before in the days of yore. Judging from a few posts made by the fans today, I'd surmise that he needs to be checking his Praetorian Guard for daggers beneath their cloaks.

They might not drop that far but one bad hire and it will effect the program for several years. I still have no clue how Miles won a Natty.
