42-0 this year instead of 59-0 like last year?

we don't have many 3rd downs - too many first and second down conversions - good luck.

I wonder what it would be if you take out the second half of UGA where we ran it up the middle all half on 3rd and 8 to kill clock.

We've had 85 attempts this season. We've had some 1st down penalties that have been a problem putting us behind the chains. We're 81st in penalties averaging 61 yards a game. Because of our high penalty number we have 3rd and longs or either a penalty on 3rd down that brings it back.
This is a point nobody brings up. There are 2 key stats in football and 2 only, penalties and turnovers. We've been struggling with both and both are the most vital stats in football.

Not exactly what you are looking for but Alabama is 20th in total first downs (despite a really bad percentage on third down conversions), so they are certainly getting a lot of first downs on first and second down. The third down stat is concerning to me though. Have to be better in those pressure situations.
Of course, Alabama was a horrible 1-12 on third down against Georgia, and dominated the game, so it is perhaps a stat that isn't all that important.

I am not positive, but I bet the second half of the UGA skewed those stats. We were in super-vanilla, run the clock out mode up 31-3. I bet we had 7 or 8 failed 3rd down conversions in that second half.

Games like that are an anomaly.
1-12 on 3rd down and winning big doesn't happen very often. I wouldnt like to see that every week.

Apparently not paying attention. Most were after 31-3 lead and killing clock. Even ran up middle on 4th and long plays. I guess that hurts our 4th down conversions as well.

What's to discuss? Up to this point, our offense has been very inconsistent this year and that's no secret...but, if we can increase the number of big plays on 1st and 2nd down, maybe we can avoid 3rd downs altogether...

I said games like that aren't normal. That's all. Didn't hate or anything.
You are a strong hearted gump for sure. And another dumb one.
What was 3rd down conversion rate in your loss now that you want to argue when I wasn't even tryin to start anything
4-13 vs ole miss. That's below season average as well.
