Pretend to be excited all you want but facts are facts.
Bama had to settle for their third choice.

Should be a fun 2024.

That's fine. Nick Saban was our second choice during our last coaching search.

You went from the GOAT to a no name coach. Big swing and a miss and deep down you all know it. It’s Bama. you should have been able to pick and choose any big name you wanted.

This guy was 12–6 at Fresno St as recent as just a few years ago. He won at Washington because he had a generational QB. Won’t have that luxury next year at Bama.

Saban was not tGOAT until he coached at Alabama though. His record as a college football head coach as of January 4, 2007 was 91-42-1.

Maybe.. maybe not.. but they were going to take those same steps when Saban retired either way.. they could hire Vince Lombardi and it would be a step down from where they were..

Maybe DeBoner is the guy..
maybe he isn’t..

Alabama will be okay either way. They are still the Giant Elephant in the Room, and they always will be..

Exactly. Saban raised the bar to a Championship level after some down years at Bama.
This hire has lowered the bar big time.

1) recruitin
2) saban fatigue
3) fan interest
4) momentum
5) less coaching experience

There is only one guy that Bama could have hired and y’all wouldn’t say this same thing about. And he will never leave UGA for another college job.

LSU fans on this board have the lowest collective football IQ of any fan base.

Do you have confirmation that this is true?
ESPN reported today that DeBoer was Greg Byrne’s top target from the beginning, so I’m curious to know if you’ve seen something legit contradicting that.

Well.. Kinda. We wanted the OC running DeBoers offense last year...now with Nick retiring, we got both. So first choice but a year later?

Lotta whistling past the graveyard.

Winning cures all. If he performs like he’s done at Fresno and Washington, Bama will be fine. If not, Bama will get someone who can.

I see this as the equivalent of hiring a Sonny Dykes with Max Duggan if Saban had retired last year.
