Didn't pay attention about the 25 year mark.

You guys can figure out how many of the listed were within 25 years.

Four I think. 1985 1986 (made it to Elite 8) 1999 2003

If you're going to go back to 85 then Bama has 6 sweet sixteen appearances.

1985
1986
1987
1990
1991
2004 (elite 8)

People here are sooooo young. They have zero idea that Alabama has more wins than anyone in the conference not named Kentucky and has a very rich basketball history.

I’ve seen more basketball games than football games in my life. Many of us have. Basketball is still king to many of us.

I’m not expecting a big name hire. I want someone that’s capable of recruiting and developing actual basketball players instead of just pure athletes.

Sadly, I agree with your sentiment. I am so unenthusiastic about the coaching search. I expect it to be a dud hire again, until whoever we hire proves me otherwise.

A loaded Alabama team got blown out by #10 seed Kent State in the second round in 2002.

An average Alabama team beat a loaded #1 seed Stanford in the second round in 2004.

The tournament is so unpredictable.

Wimp Sanderson ain’t walking through the door to resurrect Tide basketball. Alabama made frequent trips to the Sweet 16 in the 80’s and early 90’s.

It will take $8-10 Mil per to bring a first class coach to T-Town. Will they invest that? I’ll believe it when I see it.
