Bama getting left out is why the current 12 team playoff format is bad for the SEC.

It’s a lot easier to put in a 9-3 SEC team that’s clearly better than a 10-2 Big 12 for a NY6 game, but that falls apart politically when a National Championship is on the line. The SEC needs to stay at 8 games and play 2 P5 teams OOC every year. It’s the only way to maintain dominance, IMO.

Nah. In a 12-team format the SEC is getting at least two and probably three schools in each year.

There is a current 12 team playoff? Who are the other 8 teams and what bowl games will they play in?

If LSU doesn’t shite the bed against 5&7 the SEC would have gotten 4 in this year.

Yep. I’m not sure how I’ll feel about this going forward. On one hand, it’s fricking lame to lose one game and feel like your season is over. Two and it’s for sure done.

But on the other hand, that’s what makes CFB intense. Tennessee upsetting Bama was a monumental experience this season. In a 12 team format, it doesn’t mean much.

Don’t be a jackass. The current 12 team playoff is a known entity. It’s not currently in use but it’s a known. 12 team playoff official release

The expanded 12-team bracket will feature the six highest-ranked conference champions as automatic qualifiers along with the next six highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1-4 with first-round byes. The next four highest-ranked teams (Nos. 5-8) will host the first-round matchups. The CFP Selection Committee will continue to determine weekly ratings with criteria to be reevaluated in the future.

this is total bullshite - if we have 3 2 loss champions with a bye and an undefeated Notre Dame (or BYU) has t play in the 1st round; that sucks on the surface

top seeds with a bye needs t be to top 4 teams
